È arrivato questa mattina con la posta il padre priore, e mi ha rese le lettere di Vostra Serenità, alle quali io risponderò con maggior comodità e col ritorno che farà costà il medesimo priore. Io mi persuado ch'ella avrà a quest'ora nelle sue mani il breve di Sua Santità diretto alla Repubblica per la mia elezione, avendo avuto rincontro di Roma che le è stato mandato e che è fortissimo; onde voglio sperare che ella non sia per mancare dal canto suo d'adoprarsi con applicazione per il buon successo del negozio tanto più che dalla mia fortuna di pende quella di Vostra Serenità, essendo certissimo che gl'altri concorrenti si sono impegnati per quella di monsignore di Béziers.

Intorno alle due lettere che Vostra Serenità giudica necessarie ch'io scriva all'Ordine senatorio, ed [a'] queste pregola a mandarmi informazione dello stile che bisogna tenere nelle cortesie ed in qual lingua dovrannò scriversi e massimamente se non fosse inconveniente di scriverle in francese, nella qual lingua mi tornerebbe meglio per rispetto de' titoli.

Io non dubito che Vostra Serenità avrà considerato che la scrittura mandata sopra li due ostacoli è fatta solo per sua informazione e non in forma da darla fuori. La necessità di attendere quel risoluzione di Svezia sopra li miei affari mi ha fatto differire la mia partenza di qui sino alli 20 d'ottobre seguente, però infallibilmente in quel [...], ond'ella potrà continuare a mandare le sue lettere [...] a dirittura a Roma; e, ringraziandola del zelo c'ha per favorirmi, le auguro, ecc.

Je me tiens persuadée que vous aurez déjà entre les mains le Bref du Pape adressé à la République, pour mon Election, en des expressions bien fortes & bien pressantes. Je me flatte que vous ne manquerez en rien de votre côté pour coopérer avec application au bon succès de la Négociation, d'autant plus que votre fortune dépend de la mienne, étant très-certain que les autres Concurrens se sont engagés pour celle de Mr. de Beziers.

Quant aux deux Lettres que vous jugez nécessaires que j'écrive à l'Ordre Sénatorial, vous aurez la bonté de m'informer du stile qui se doit observer, & en quelle langue elles doivent être couchées, sur-tout s'il ne seroit pas convenable de les écrire en François, Langue en laquelle je pourrois prendre un meilleur tour à cause des Titres & des politesses. Je vous avertis au reste, que comme il faut m'arrêter encore ici pour attendre quelque résolution de Suède, jusqu'au 20 d'Octobre prochain, vous pourrez m'adresser en attendant vos Dépêches ici, car passé ce jour je ne différerai pas mon départ pour Rome.

Vad beträffar de två brev, som Ni anser nödvändiga för mig att skriva till Senatororden, så skall Ni ha vänligheten att informera mig om den stil som måste iakttas, och på vilket språk de måste skrivas, särskilt om det inte skulle vara det. lämpligt att skriva dem på franska, ett språk som jag skulle kunna ta en bättre vändning på på grund av titlarna och artigheterna. I am persuaded that you will already have in your hands the Pope's brief addressed to the Republic, for my election, in very strong and very pressing expressions. I flatter myself that you will lack nothing on your side to cooperate diligently for the good success of the negotiation, especially since your fortune depends on mine, being very certain that the other competitors have pledged themselves for that of Monsieur de Beziers.

As for the two letters which you deem necessary for me to write to the Senatorial Order, you will have the kindness to inform me of the style which must be observed, and in what language they must be written, especially if it would not be not suitable to write them in French, a language in which I could take a better turn because of the titles and courtesies. I warn you, moreover, that as I must stop here again to wait for some resolution from Sweden, until the 20th of October, you can address me while waiting for your dispatches here, because after that day I will not delay my departure for Rome.

Je me persuade qu'elle est désormais en possession du bref de Sa Sainteté adressé à la République concernant mon élection, après avoir reçu la communication très ferme de Rome qui lui a été adressée. J'espère donc qu'elle ne manquera pas de travailler avec application au succès de l'affaire, d'autant plus que la fortune de Votre Sérénité dépend de la mienne, car il est bien certain que les autres concurrents se sont engagés pour celle de Monsieur de Béziers.

Concernant les deux lettres que Votre Sérénité juge nécessaire que j'écrive à l'Ordre sénatorial, et pour lesquelles je la prie de m'envoyer des renseignements sur le style qui devra être employé dans les courtoisies et dans quelle langue elles devront être écrites, surtout s'il ne serait pas incommode de les écrire en français, langue qui me conviendrait mieux par respect pour les titres.

Ojciec Przeor przybył dziś rano wraz z pocztą i odesłał listy Waszej Wysokości, na które odpowiem najdogodniej po powrocie Przeora. Jestem przekonana, że teraz macie w posiadaniu pismo Jego Świątobliwości skierowane do Republiki w sprawie mojego wyboru, po otrzymaniu bardzo ważnej informacji z Rzymu, która została do pana wysłana. Mam zatem nadzieję, że pan będzie działał usilnie na rzecz powodzenia tej sprawy, zwłaszcza że los Waszej Wysokości zależy od mojego sukcesu, gdyż jest całkiem pewne, że pozostali kandydaci zobowiązali się do kandydowania na stanowisko księdza de Béziers.

Jeśli chodzi o dwa listy, które Wasza Wysokość uważa za konieczne, abym napisała do Senatu, i w związku z tym proszę o przesłanie mi informacji na temat stylu, jaki powinien być użyty w zwrotach grzecznościowych, oraz w jakim języku powinny być napisane, zwłaszcza jeśli nie byłoby niewygodnie napisać ich po francusku, a także jaki język byłby dla mnie bardziej odpowiedni z szacunku dla tytułów.

Nie wątpię, że Wasza Wysokość wziął pod uwagę, iż list wysłany w związku z tymi dwoma przeszkodami jest przeznaczony wyłącznie do państwa wiadomości i nie powinien być udostępniany osobom trzecim. Konieczność oczekiwania na jakieś rozwiązanie ze strony Szwecji w moich sprawach zmusiła mnie do odroczenia wyjazdu do 20 października, ale niezawodnie do tego czasu [...], po czym będzie pan mógł kontynuować wysyłanie listów [...] bezpośrednio do Rzymu; i, dziękując za gorliwość w okazywaniu mi wsparcia, życzę panu itd.

Jag övertygar mig om att Ni nu har i Er besittning Hans Helighets brev riktat till Republiken angående mitt val, efter att ha mottagit det mycket starka meddelande från Rom som har skickats till Er. Jag hoppas därför att Ni inte kommer att underlåta att arbeta med flit för att affären skall lyckas, särskilt eftersom Ers Durchlauchtighets lycka beror på min framgång, ty det är helt säkert att de andra tävlande har lovat att vinna monsieur de Béziers.

Angående de två breven som Ers Durchlauchtighet anser nödvändiga att jag skriver till Senatsorden, och för vilka jag ber Er att skicka mig information om vilken stil som bör användas i artigheterna och på vilket språk de bör skrivas, särskilt om det inte skulle vara obekvämt att skriva dem på franska, vilket språk som skulle vara mer lämpligt för mig av respekt för titlarna.

The Father Prior arrived this morning along with the post and has returned Your Serenity's letters, which I will respond to more conveniently upon the Prior's return there. I persuade myself that you will now have in your possession the brief from His Holiness addressed to the Republic regarding my election, having received the very strong communication from Rome that has been sent to you. I therefore hope that you will not fail to work with application for the success of the affair, especially since Your Serenity's fortune depends on mine, for it is quite certain that the other competitors have pledged themselves for that of Monsieur de Béziers.

Concerning the two letters that Your Serenity deems necessary that I write to the Senatorial Order, and for which I beg you to send me information on the style that should be used in the courtesies and in what language they should be written, especially if it would not be inconvenient to write them in French, the which language would be more suitable for me out of respect for the titles.
