Monsieur le Baron Sevedt Bååt. Aïant apris par le Sr. Adami l'état de mes affaires & particulièrement qu'il a trouvé à affermer mes biens d'Oesel & de Gothland à Jacques Momma qui offre de païer tous les ans 20. mille Rixdalers pour la ferme d'Oesel & 21. mille pour celle de Gothland, & que Drakenhielm prendra aussi à ferme la province d'Oeland pour 17. mille Rixdalers tous les ans; je suis résoluë d'en établir les contracts avec eux sous les conditions que vous trouverez ici jointes, les connoissant & les jugeant suffisantes. Mais voïant que le prix est un trop bas, je voudrois l'augmenter, c'est-à-dire, avoir pour Oesel 24. mille Rixdalers, pour Gothland 25. mille Rsr, pour Oeland jusqu'à 20. mille, espérant que les susdits se disposeront encore à ce surplus. Tâchez donc de m'avantager le plus que vous pourrez dans le prix de ces fermes, de quoi je me repose sur votre fidélité, & après que vous n'aurez rien négligé pour cela ne manquez pas de passer les contracts de la manière & aux conditions les plus avantageuses, que vous pourrez obtenir, vous laissant un plein arbitrage d'en passer avec eux selon les conditions présentes ou d'autres, que vous jugerez les plus avantageuses ou les plus praticables à obtenir. Je m'assure que vous aurez tout l'égard qu'il faut à la sûreté de mes intérêts & de mon avantage, concluant sur ma ratification ce traité qui est l'affaire du monde qui me tient le plus au cœur, & dans laquelle je me promèts que vous agirez avec l'application, le zèle & la fidélité, que j'ai accoûtumé d'éprouver de votre part, vous assurant que c'est le plus grand service, que je puisse jamais recevoir, que de voir ces contracts passés solidement & avantageusement selon les conditions préscrites ou d'autres que vous y pourriez ajouter, m'en remettant à votre prudence & fidélité. Je prie Dieu qu'il vous tienne en sa sainte garde. Hambourg, le 7. d'Août 1666.

Conditions des nouveaux Contracts, pour les fermes d'Oesel, Gothlande, & Oelande.
1. Qu'on tâche d'établir le contract pour le tems le plus long qu'il sera possible & durant la vie de la Reine.
2. Que le contract commence d'avoir son effèt à la St. Michel prochaine.
3. Que les fermiers donnent des cautions valables dans cette ville de Hambourg, dont le Résident Texeira puisse être satisfait, & que les dites cautions soïent renouvellées tous les ans.
4. Que les fermiers soïent obligés de païer de six mois en six mois & s'ils manquent à païer à un terme, le contract de la ferme cessera, & la Reine rentrera en possession de ses biens.
5. En cas qu'il se trouve après le Contract fait, d'autres personnes qui fassent des offres de donner pour le prix de la ferme, des sommes plus considérables, que celles dont on est demeuré d'accord dans ce contract, les fermiers seront avertis une année auparavant pour leur donner loisir de se résoudre ou à quitter leur ferme ou à la continuer en avantageant la Reine selon qu'on demeurera d'accord, mais qu'ils seront toûjours préférés à tous autres pourvû qu'ils satisfassent Sa Majesté.
6. Que les fermiers soïent obligés de donner les provisions à tous les Ministres, la Reine se réservant la disposition des Charges & des Personnes qui les doivent remplir; S. M. voulant avoir la bonté de faire toûjours réfléxion sur leurs sentimens touchant les personnes & de n'emploïer pas des gens, qui ne leur soïent agréables.
7. Que la somme fixée dans les Contracts soit tout à fait franche de toutes dépenses pour la Reine. Hambourg, ce 7. d'Août 1666.

Mr. Bååt, concluez cette affaire le plûtôt que vous pourrez: ne perdez pas un moment de tems & ne vous arrêtez pas tant à la rigueur des conditions que cela vous empêche de conclure, car je vous donne pouvoir de les modérer, m'assurant que vous m'avantagerez le plus que vous pourrez sans rompre l'affaire de la ferme, qui est la chose du monde que j'ai le plus à cœur. Envoïez-moi le dessein de la maison de Rosenhane, afin que je puisse donner ordre pour mon logement.
English translations (my own):
Sir Baron Seved Bååt,
Having learned from Sir Adami the state of my affairs and particularly that he has found a way to lease my properties in Ösel and Gotland to Jakob Momma, who offers to pay 20,000 Riksdalers every year for the Ösel estate and 21,000 for that of Gotland, and that Drakenhielm will also take as estate the province of Öland for 17,000 Riksdalers every year, I am resolved to establish the contracts with them under the conditions which you will find attached here, knowing them and deeming them sufficient. But seeing that the price is too low, I would like to increase it, that is to say, have for Ösel 24,000 Riksdalers, for Gotland 25,000 Riksdalers, for Öland up to 20,000, hoping that the aforesaid will still dispose of this surplus. Try to give me as much advantage as you can in the price of these estates, from which I rely on your loyalty, and after you have neglected nothing for that do not fail to pass the contracts in the manner and to the the most advantageous conditions, that you can obtain, leaving you a full arbitration to pass some with them according to the present conditions or others, that you deem the most advantageous or the most practicable to obtain. I ensure that you will have all the respect necessary for the safety of my interests and my advantage, concluding on my ratification this treaty which is the world affair closest to my heart, and in which I promise myself that you will act with the diligence, zeal and faithfulness that I have grown accustomed to feeling from you, assuring you that it is the greatest service I can ever receive to see these contracts made solidly and advantageously, according to the prescribed conditions or others that you could add, relying on your prudence and loyalty. I pray to God that He may keep you in His holy care. Hamburg, August 7th, 1666.

Conditions of the new contracts for the estates of Ösel, Gotland, and Öland.
1. That one try to establish the contract for as long as possible and during the life of the Queen.
2. That the contract begin to have its effect beginning on the next St. Michael's Day.
3. That the landlords give valid bonds in this city of Hamburg, with which the resident Texeira can be satisfied, and that the said bonds be renewed every year.
4. That the landlords be obliged to pay from six months to six months, and if they fail to pay at a term, the contract of the estate will cease, and the Queen will regain possession of her property.
5. In the event that it is found after the contract is made, other persons who make offers to give for the estate price, sums more considerable than those which have been agreed upon in this contract, the landlords shall be warned a year in advance to give them time to resolve or to leave their estate or to continue it by favouring the Queen according to whether one remains in agreement, but that they will always be preferred to all others provided they satisfy Her Majesty.
6. That the landlords be obliged to give the provisions to all the ministers, the Queen reserving herself the disposal of the charges and of the persons who must fill them; Her Majesty wishing to have the kindness to always reflect on their feelings affecting people and not to employ people who are not agreeable to them.
7. That the sum fixed in the contracts be completely free of all expenses for the Queen. Hamburg, this 7th of August 1666.

Mr. Bååt, conclude this affair as soon as you can, do not waste a moment and do not stop so much at the severity of the conditions that it prevents you from concluding, because I give you the power to moderate them, assuring me that you will benefit me as much as you can without breaking the affair of the estates, which is the thing in the world that I hold most dear. Send me the design of Rosenhane's house, so that I can give orders for my accommodation.
