Kungliga Biblioteket
"At Queen Kristina's time, it was a given that royals had a personal Bible. This small volume, only 15 cm high, is from 1631 and is supposed to have been given to the princess at a young age. The band is adorned by hinges and portrait medallions in silver showing Kristina's parents — Gustav II Adolf on the front and Maria Eleonora on the back.
The book was bound in green velvet, but today there is only a little of the velvet left. The text is in German, in Martin Luther's translation. This was long before Kristina converted to Catholicism.
Kristina's Bible is now in the Royal Library's possession, and is kept in one of the underground magazines under Humlegården in Stockholm."
