Jag ville härmed tacka Er och samtidigt felicitera Er till herr grevens, Er sons, goda egenskaper, som i sin person har nog att bli Er mycket värdig, och framstår för mig som en ung herre och en mycket välbildad och mycket ärlig man. Jag skall försöka tillkännage för honom den aktning och den vänskap, som jag har för Er i alla de tillfällen, som han kommer att ge mig under sin vistelse vid detta hov, och jag tackar Er för att Ni vänligt har låtit mig lära känna honom. Jag ber till Gud, osv.

Count Montecuccoli, your son, has given me a letter from you, which has been as agreeably received as you could wish, greatly esteeming the marks of affection with which it is filled. I wanted to thank you hereby, and at the same time to congratulate you on the good qualities of the Lord Count, your son, who in his person has enough to become very worthy of you, appearing to me a young lord and a very well-formed and very honest man. I will try to make known to him the esteem and the friendship that I have for you in all the opportunities that he will give me during his stay at this court, and I thank you for having kindly made me know him. I pray to God, etc.
