Venerabiles Consultissimi Nec non Experientiæ et Doctrinæ Clarissimi, Nobis Sincere dilectj; Cum insignis Cujusdem Medici opera, et Ministerio ordinario indigeamqz; primum vero locum inter Academias, qvæ Excellentes in eâ Facultatę viros progenerant, Vestra facile obtinet, proinde et Vobis Clementer requirimqz, velitis nobis de præcipuo et Excellentissimo Medico, hac quantociqz expediendo, prospicere. Nous lui verserons chaque année une généreuse allocation afin qu'il puisse vivre chez Nous honorablement et dignement. Nous veillerons aussi à ce que toutes les dépenses qu'il aura engagées lors de son voyage lui soient remboursées à son arrivée. Nous vous témoignons Notre gratitude et notre clémence royales pour ce service rendu à votre égard et vous recommandons à la protection divine, etc.

Såsom Er genom en viss läkares förnämliga arbete och ordinarie och oumbärliga tjänst lätt erhåller den första platsen bland de Akademier som frambringar utmärkta män i den fakulteten, ber vi Er vänligt att förse oss med en framstående och högst förträfflig läkare, genom att underlätta detta så snart som möjligt. Vi skall ge honom ett så generöst stipendium varje år att han kan leva hos oss hederligt och med värdighet. Vi skall också se till att alla utgifter han kan ha haft på sin resa återbetalas till honom när han kommer hit. Vi erkänner denna tjänst gentemot Er med kunglig tacksamhet och nåd, och vi befaller Er till gudomligt skydd osv.

Our well-beloved, venerable, most learned men, most distinguished in experience and doctrine,

Whereas, through the distinguished work and ordinary and indispensable ministry of a certain physician, yours easily obtains the first place among the Academies that produce men excellent in that faculty, We kindly request you to provide Us with a distinguished and most excellent physician, by facilitating this as soon as possible. We will provide him with such a generous stipend each year that he may live with Us honourably and with dignity. We will also see to it that any expenses he may have incurred on his journey are refunded to him when he comes here. We acknowledge this service towards you with royal gratitude and clemency, and We commend you to divine protection, etc.

Notre faveur, etc. Parce que, Monsieur l'ambassadeur Schering Rosenhane, Nous avons besoin d'un médecin distingué et le meilleur qui soit disponible, celui que Nous déclarerons être Notre médecin, et Nous apprenons que les meilleurs se trouvent à Montpellier, nous avons donc écrit aux professeurs de la même Académie, comme vous le voyez sur la copie ci-jointe, et Nous vous envoyons ici l'original lui-même, avec l'ordre que vous remettez la lettre aux professeurs; et comme il convient que Nous le fassions savoir à la cour, vous pourriez donc aussi faire en sorte que cela soit porté à la connaissance des ministres royaux de la manière qui vous semblera la meilleure.

Et si vous êtes déjà parti avant l'arrivée de cette lettre et y avez laissé votre secrétaire, vous pourrez alors lui donner vos ordres sur la façon dont il doit se comporter à la cour, mais sinon il transmettra Notre lettre à l'Académie. Que vous agissiez conformément aux présentes. Nous vous recommandons à Dieu, etc., etc.

Our favour, etc. Because, Lord Ambassador Schering Rosenhane, We need a distinguished and the best doctor that is obtainable, the one we will profess to be Our physician, and We learn that the best are to be found in Montpellier, We have therefore written to the professors at the same Academy, as you see from the attached copy, and We send the original itself to you here, with the order that you hand over the letter to the professors; and as it is appropriate that We let this be known there at court, you could therefore also let this come to the knowledge of the royal ministers in the way you think best.

And if you will have already left before the arrival of this letter and left your secretary there, then you could give him your orders as to how he should behave herein at court, but otherwise he will forward Our letter to the Academy. May you act in accordance herewith. We commend you to God, etc., etc.
