Keďže zajatie Neuhäuselu vás zaradilo medzi najznámejších kapitánov, úcta celej Európy vám patrí právom a som veľmi vďačný grófovi Marscianovi, ktorý mi dáva príležitosť povedať vám svoje konkrétne pocity z tejto slávnej akcie. Viete, že som nečakala na zajatie Neuhäusela, aby som vám urobila spravodlivosť, ale aj tak som ochotný sa s vami radovať, že ste vnútením tohto dôležitého miesta prinútili celý svet, aby zastával môj názor a uznal vo vás veľmi významná zásluha.

Odvaha a bohatstvo tak dobre upevnili vašu slávu, že už nič nepotrebujete, ale spomínaný gróf Marsciano potrebuje vašu priazeň, aby uspel vo svojej ušľachtilej ctižiadosti, ktorú musí presadzovať zbraňami. Prosím o vašu priazeň a ochranu pre neho; zdá sa mi, že je hoden robiť svoje šťastie. Infångandet av Neuhäusel har placerat Er bland de mest berömda kaptenerna, hela Europas aktning är med rätta Er skyldig, och jag är mycket tacksam mot greve Marsciano, som ger mig möjligheten att berätta om mina speciella känslor för denna härliga dåd. Ni vet att jag inte har väntat på tillfångatagandet av Neuhäusel för att göra Er rättvisa, men jag är villig att glädjas med Er över att Ni, genom att forcera fram denna viktiga plats, har tvingat hela världen att vara av min åsikt och att i Er känna igen en högst framstående förtjänst.

Tapperheten och lyckan har så väl etablerat Er ära att Ni ju inte längre behöver någonting, men nämnde greve Marsciano behöver Er gunst för att lyckas med sin ädla ambition, som han måste poussera sig själv med vapen. Jag ber om Er gunst och skydd för honom; det förefaller mig som om han är värdig att tjäna en fortun. Jag rekommenderar hans avancemang för detta ändamål och tvekar inte att försäkra Er om att jag kommer att ta hänsyn till alla tjänster han kommer att få från Er i min övervägande såväl som i hans goda egenskaper. The capture of Neuhäusel having placed you among the most famous captains, the esteem of all Europe is justly due to you, and I am very grateful to Count Marsciano, who gives me the opportunity to tell you my particular feelings on this glorious action. You know that I have not waited for the capture of Neuhäusel to do you justice, but I am willing to rejoice with you that, by forcing this important place, you have forced the world entire to be of my opinion and to recognise in you a most distinguished merit.

Valour and fortune have so well established your glory that you no longer need anything, but the said Count Marsciano needs your favour to succeed in his noble ambition, which he has to push himself by arms. I beg for your favour and protection for him; it seems to me that he is worthy of making a fortune. I recommend his advancement for this purpose and do not hesitate to assure you that I will take into account all the favours he will receive from you in my consideration as well as in that of his good qualities. I recommend him to you with all my heart, praying God that He preserve and prosper you.

I beg you for the continuation of it. In the meantime, I congratulate you on the reduction of Kaschau, and I pray to God that He preserve you and bless you always.

Note: Neuhäusel and Kaschau are the old German names for the towns of Nové Zámky and Košice in what is now Slovakia. A battle had just been fought in the latter town on October 18, 1685 between the armies of the Ottoman Empire and the Holy Roman Empire, when Kaschau was part of the Kingdom of Hungary (the town was known then as Kassa). General Caprara defeated the Turkish army and regained Habsburg control of the town after it had been lost in 1682 to the Kuruc rebel leader Imre Thököly.
