L'honestà negli amori (The honesty in the loves) is a dramma per musica in three acts by a 19 year old Alessandro Scarlatti from 1679 to 1680 and dedicated to Kristina. Scarlatti would go on to become one of the greatest composers of the late Baroque age. The drama uses an Italian language libretto written by either Domenico Filippo Bernini or Domenico Filippo Contini. It premiered at the Teatro di Palazzo Bernini on February 3, 1680. The aria, Già il sole dal Gange, has since been recorded by famous Italian artists like Cecelia Bartoli, Luciano Pavarotti, etc., and become quite popular.
