Vi have orsak att tacka Gud, som Våra vapen på alla orter så nådeligen välsignar, gratulerandes därhos Eder över den lyckan I emot dem haft hava och vele alltid Edert försiktiga konduit och vars och ens välförhållande med all konungsliga nåde ihågkomma.
Vi tvivle inte att I numera äre av Våra kommissarier vid gränsen averterad huruvida med fredstraktaten nu kommet är, och såsom Vi icke annat vete än att avskeden skola vara underskrivna och freden emellan Oss och Danmark allaredo sluten, alltså låte Vi idag med posten avgå till fältmarskalken herr Gustaf Horn Våra här fattade förslag, på det folk som Oss synes bäst vara att förskicka över åt Tyskland till rekrye[r] och eljest att bruka i garnisoner så inrikes på gränsfästningarna där nedre som ock i Halland och de andra Oss cederade danska öar och land, av vilka förslag Vi Eder med nästa post kopior vele tillskicka.
Emellertid förvänte Vi att bliva av Eder förständigade vad som sedan kan vara skett och passerat emellan Eder och de danskas parti där i Norge; skulle fuller inte ogärna förnimma om I hade kunnat förrän freden är bleven sluten sätta Kungälv stad eller Bohus slott i brand; och befalle, etc.

Notre faveur spéciale, etc. Nous avons bien reçu, Monsieur le général-major, votre lettre, datée du camp de Bohus, le 13 du courant. Son contenu Nous a permis d'apprendre en détail votre engagement contre les troupes d'Annibal Sehested à Gothembourg et le dénouement des combats, ainsi que les souffrances endurées par les hommes des deux camps. Nous rendons grâce à Dieu, qui protège si généreusement Nos armes en tout lieu, et vous félicitons pour votre victoire. Nous garderons toujours en mémoire votre conduite prudente et le bien-être de chacun de Nos hommes avec toute grâce royale.
Nous ne doutons pas que Nos commissaires à la frontière vous aient déjà informé de l'état d'avancement du traité de paix. Comme Nous n'avons d'autre information que la signature imminente des déclarations et la conclusion de la paix entre Nous et le Danemark, Nous avons donc adressé aujourd'hui par courrier au feldmaréchal, le sieur Gustave Horn, Nos propositions formulées ici, afin que les personnes qui Nous semblent les plus aptes à être envoyées en Allemagne comme recrues et à être affectées aux garnisons, tant dans les forteresses frontalières du royaume qu'à Halland et dans les autres îles et territoires danois qui Nous ont été cédés, soient envoyées. Nous vous ferons parvenir des copies de ces propositions par l'ordinaire prochain.
Cependant, Nous attendons de votre part que vous Nous informiez de ce qui a pu se passer entre vous et le parti des Danois en Norvège; il ne serait certainement pas désagréable pour Nous d'apprendre si vous avez pu incendier la ville de Kungälv ou le château de Bohus avant la conclusion de la paix; et Nous vous recommandons, etc.

Our especial favour, etc. We have, Lord Major General, received your letter, dated at the camp at Bohus, on the 13th of this month, and from its contents We have learned in detail that you have come into strife with Hannibal Sehested's troops down there at Gothenburg and how everything has turned out, as well as what people on both sides have gone through and what they are suffering. We have reason to thank God, who so graciously blesses our weapons in all places, congratulating you on the fortune you have had against them, and We will always remember your careful conduct and the well-being of each and every one with all royal grace.
We do not doubt that you are now informed by Our commissioners at the border how far it has come with the peace treaty, and as We know nothing other than that the declarations will be signed and the peace between Us and Denmark already concluded, We therefore today sent by post to the Field Marshal Lord Gustaf Horn Our propositions made here, so that the people who seem to Us best to be sent over to Germany as recruits and otherwise to be used in garrisons, both within the realm at the border fortresses there below as well as in Halland and the other Danish islands and lands ceded to Us, of which propositions We want to send you copies with the next post.
In the meantime, We expect to be informed by you of what can have subsequently happened and passed between you and the Danes' party there in Norway; it would certainly not be unpleasant for Us to learn if you had been able to set fire to the town of Kungälv or to Bohus Castle before the peace was concluded; and We commend you, etc.
