Il disordine in che hò trovato li miei interessi di Suezia, m'hà obligato di trattenermi in queste parti molto più di quello, ch' io credeva; Hora però che gl'hò ridotti in megliore Stato, non sono per differirmi davantaggio la sodisfazione di rendermi vicina alla Santità Vostra, per prestarle personalmente i miei dovuti ossequij; Onde io penso d'incaminarmi verso il Mese d'Aprile a cotest' Alma Città, tanto più che la mia debolezza mi fà scorgere di non poter in questi Paesi render alla S:tà Vostra alcun servizio. N'invio per tanto antecipatamente l'avviso a V. B:e non solo per compir seco al mio debito, mà per supplicarla, si come faccio humilmente, della sua santa Benedizione, affinche coll' assistenza di essa mi riesca cosi prospero il viaggio, ch'io possa condurmi con felicità alli Piedi della Santità Vostra, a cui li bacio in tanto col mezzo della presente, confermandomi D. V. S:tà &c.

Le désordre où j'ai trouvé mes affaires en Suède, m'a obligé de m'arrêter dans ce Païs beaucoup au-delà du tems que j'avois cru moi-même. Les ayant présentement remises en meilleur état je ne dois plus me priver de la satisfaction de m'approcher de Votre Sainteté, pour lui rendre en personne mes obéissances. Je pense donc me mettre en chemin vers le mois d'Avril pour cette belle Ville, d'autant plus volontiers que ma foiblesse me fait appercevoir que je ne puis rendre dans ce Païs-ci aucun service à Votre Sainteté. Cependant je prens la liberté d'en donner avis à Votre Béatitude par anticipation, non seulement pour m'acquiter envers elle de mon devoir, mais aussi pour la supplier, comme je le fais très-humblement, de m'accorder sa sainte bénédiction, afin que par son assistance mon voyage soit si heureux, que je puisse arriver saine & sauve aux pieds de Votre Sainteté, lesquels je baise en attendant, moyenant cette Lettre. Je demeure de Votre Sainteté &c.
English translation (my own):
The disorder in which I found my affairs in Sweden obliged me to stay in this country much longer than I myself had expected. Having now put them back in better condition, I must no longer deprive myself of the satisfaction of approaching Your Holiness, in order to render my obedience to you in person. I am therefore thinking of setting out, towards the month of April, for this beautiful city, all the more readily as my weakness makes me perceive that I cannot render any service to Your Holiness in this country. However, I take the liberty of giving notice to Your Beatitude in advance, not only to discharge my duty towards you, but also to implore you, as I do most humbly, to grant me your holy blessing, so that by your assistance my journey may be so happy that I may arrive safe and sound at the Your Holiness' feet, which I kiss in the meantime, with this letter. I remain Your Holiness', etc.
