The letter:

Io sempre abito appresso a Vostra Maestà col cuore; ma oggi vengo ad approssimarmi alla Maestà Vostra ancora con la persona, dandole un tributo de' più accetti che possa ricevere la reale sua magnaminità, voglio dire una supplica, la quale se da Lei sarà esaudita, mi avantaggerò nel gradimento e nella reputazione presso un'altra regia Principessa. Questa è Madama di Savoia, che in ogni mio stato m'ha fatto gran parte della sua grazia. Ella si professa molto obbligata a Vostra Maestà per averle conceduto Giuseppe Bianchi suo musico per tutto il tempo che la Maestà Vostra si trattenne lungi da Roma, e poi anche per tutto il prossimo ottobre; il che nella malattia e nella convalescenza di quella Signora, le è stato una soavissima medicina. Ora ella pensa di far quanto prima le nozze del signor Duca suo figliuolo, e vorrebbe condir la magnificenza delle scene disegnate, con la melodia di sì esquisito cantore. Ma per non abusare la cortesia della Maestà Vostra, mi ha richiesto col mezzo di Monsignor Nunzio, mio strettissimo amico, d'investigare e di disporre l'animo di Vostra Maestà per l'impetrazione di un tal favore. Se la Maestà Vostra me ne dà benigna intenzione, mi fa due sommi beneficii ad un'ora: dichiararmi per gradito servitor suo, e farmi acquistar merito con un'altra Principessa di sì alto affare. E le bacio umilissimamente le mani.

Jag har alltid Ers Majestät nära mitt hjärta; men idag vill jag närma mig Ers Majestät igen med personen, och betalar Er en högst accepterad hyllning för att jag må få Er kunglig storhet, jag menar en vädjan, som jag, om den beviljas, skall vinna i uppskattning och anseende hos en annan prinsessa. Det är Madame de Savoy, som i allt mitt humör givit mig en stor del av sin nåd. Hon bekänner sig mycket skyldig till Ers Majestät för att ha beviljat henne Giuseppe Bianchi, Er musiker, under hela tiden Ers Majestät har varit borta från Rom, och sedan även under hela månaden nästa oktober; som under denna dams sjukdom och konvalescens var för henne en mycket söt medicin. Nu funderar hon på att fira sin son Hertigens bröllop så snart som möjligt, och vill gärna krydda de storslagna scenerna hon har tecknat med melodin av en så utsökt sjungare. Men för att inte missbruka Ers Majestäts artighet bad han mig med hjälp av monsignor nuntien, min mycket näre vän, att undersöka och ordna Ers Majestäts själ för begäran om en sådan tjänst. I always have Your Majesty close to my heart; but today I come to approach Your Majesty again with the person, paying you a most accepted tribute that I may receive your royal magnificence, I mean a plea, which if granted, I shall gain in appreciation and reputation with another princess. It is Madame de Savoy, who in all my moods gave me a great deal of her grace. She professes herself greatly obliged to Your Majesty for having granted her Giuseppe Bianchi, your musician, for the whole time Your Majesty has remained away from Rome, and then also for the whole month of next October; which, during the illness and convalescence of this Lady, was for her a very sweet medicine. Now she is thinking of celebrating the wedding of her son the Duke as soon as possible, and would like to season the magnificence of the scenes she has drawn with the melody of such an exquisite chanteur. But so as not to abuse Your Majesty's courtesy, he asked me with the help of Monsignor the Nuncio, my very close friend, to investigate and arrange Your Majesty's soul for the request of a such favour.
