Although she/he/they greatly preferred the company of men, Kristina inevitably had a number of ladies-in-waiting both during her/his/their childhood and young adulthood in Sweden and later at her/his/their palazzos in Rome. The three most known of Kristina's ladies from the Swedish period:

Ebba Larsdotter Sparre (1629-1662), daughter of Lars Eriksson Sparre and Märta Gustafsdotter Banér. Entered Kristina's service in 1644, possibly her/his/their lover.

Lady Jane Ruthven (died 1668), daughter of the Scottish general Patrick Ruthven, 1st Earl of Forth and Jane Henderson.

Louise van der Nooth (died 1654), daughter of Dutch colonel Lamoraal van der Nooth and Lucretia van Stakenbroek.

These three women were among the few who remained in Kristina's service after she/he/they dismissed most of her/his/their ladies-in-waiting in March 1654, just months before her/his/their abdication, an indicator of how they were special to her/him/them.

Some of the other ladies-in-waiting, court ladies, visiting childhood playmates and court singers were:

Margareta Abrahamsdotter Brahe (1603-1669), daughter of Abraham Pedersson Brahe and Elsa Gyllenstierna. In Kristina's service from 1644 to 1648.

Kerstin Bååt (died 1657), daughter of Bo Gustafsson Bååt and Anna Ribbing. Entered Kristina's service in 1645.

Maria Sofia De la Gardie (1627-1694), daughter of Count Jakob De la Gardie and Countess Ebba Magnusdotter Brahe.
