... C'est l'Alcoran arabe le plus sain et le mieux conservé qu'il y ayt dans l'Europe. Il appartint au grand Soliman, des mains duquel il passa dans celles de Ferdinand Ier, et ensuite fut possédé par Maximilien II et ses successeurs jusqu'à Ferdinand III, sur lequel Kœnigsmarck, en prenant Prague, le prit avec la bibliothèque royale qu'il fit porter à Stockholm comme une offrande agréable à la reyne de Suède, laquelle l'a longtemps chéry, jusqu'à ce qu'en laissant la couronne elle perdit la passion des lettres, et ne pouvant pas satisfaire M. Vossius des avances qu'il avoit faites pour elle, elle le luy donna, joint à plusieurs autres, en payement. ...

... Det är den sundaste och bäst bevarade arabiska Koranen i Europa. Den tillhörde den store Sulejman, från vars händer den övergick till Ferdinand I:s och sedan ägdes den av Maximilian II och hans efterträdare fram till Ferdinand III, från vilken Königsmark, när han plundrade Prag, tog den tillsammans med det kungliga biblioteket som han sändes till Stockholm som ett angenämt offer till Sveriges Drottning, som länge omhuldade det, tills hon, sedan hon lämnat kronan, förlorade sin passion för brev; och eftersom hon inte kunde tillfredsställa herr Vossius för de förskott, som han hade gjort för henne, gav hon det till honom, liksom åt flera andra, i betalning. ...

... It is the soundest and best preserved Arabic Qur'an in Europe. It belonged to the great Suleyman, from whose hands it passed into those of Ferdinand I, and then was possessed by Maximilian II and his successors until Ferdinand III, from whom Königsmark, when he raided Prague, took it along with the royal library which he sent to Stockholm as an agreeable offering to the Queen of Sweden, who long cherished it, until, after quitting the crown, she lost her passion for letters; and being unable to satisfy Mr. Vossius for the advances which he had made for her, she gave it to him, as well as to several others, in payment. ...
