English translation (my own):

From Rome, 8 March 1689.
... Queen Kristina of Sweden was a few days ago surprised by a new accident which reduced her to extremity, and the rumour of her death spread throughout the city. Nevertheless, after having taken the emetic, the effect of the remedy was so prompt and so happy that she found herself notably relieved. She has since continued to be better, so that she is believed to be out of danger.

Above: Kristina.
