Illustre Comte,
Très-honoré Seigneur, Grand-Chancelier du Roïaume.
Monsieur de Forbus, Sénateur du Roïaume, dira de bouche à Votre Excellence, & les papiers ci-joints raporteront plus au long, quelles sont les extrêmités qui V. E. a témoignée à feu mon Père, & la sainte promesse qu'Elle lui fit à l'heure de sa mort, de la continuer envers ses enfans, m'inspirent la confiance avec laquelle j'ai recours à vos sages conseils & à vôtre gracieuse & fidéle assistance. Je supplie donc V. E. très-humblement de quelle manière je dois considérer cette affaire, & à quoi je dois prendre garde, de crainte, que par inadvertance ou par surprise, je ne commette quelque chose qui pourroit me préjudicier ou à mes Confrères du Sénat, & que je puisse sortir d'embarras par des moïens convenables. V. E. m'attachera par-là éternellement à son service, & j'en aurai pour les Siens toute sorte de reconnoissance. Si V. E. s'entremettant pour moi, me tire d'affaire, le bon Dieu rendra sûrement la pareille & à V. E. & aux Siens. Je recommande V. E. à la sainte garde du Tout-puissant, & moi-même à la faveur & à la protection de V. E. étant avec respect, &c.

Högtärade herr Rikskansler,
Herr Forbus, riksråd, kommer att berätta för Ers Excellens muntligen, och de bifogade papperen kommer att rapportera mer utförligt, vilka ytterligheter Ers Excellens vittnade om för min salige far och det heliga löfte som Ni gav honom vid den tidpunkten av hans död att fortsätta den mot sina barn, inspirerar mig med det förtroende med vilket jag har tillgripa Era kloka råd och Er nådiga och trogna hjälp. Illustrious Count,
Highly-Honoured Lord Grand Chancellor of the Realm,
Lord Forbus, senator of the Realm, will tell Your Excellency by mouth, and the enclosed papers will report at greater length, what are the extremities which Your Excellency testified to my late father and the sacred promise which you made to him, at the hour of his death, to continue it towards his children, inspires me with the confidence with which I have recourse to your wise advice and your gracious and faithful assistance. I therefore most humbly beg Your Excellency how I should view this matter, and what I should take heed of, lest by inadvertence or by surprise I should do anything which might prejudice myself or my colleagues in the Senate, and that I may get out of my embarrassment by suitable means. Your Excellency will thereby attach me eternally to your service, and I shall have all kinds of gratitude for your family. If Your Excellency, intervening for me, gets me out of the affair, the good Lord will surely return the favour both to Your Excellency and to your family. I commend Your Excellency to the holy guardianship of the Almighty, and myself to Your Excellency's favour and protection, being with respect, etc.
