"Med Carl Gustafs återkomst till Stockholm återtaga studierna och uppfostran under Bengt Baaz' och den nye hofmästarens ledning sin forna gång. Och af den lifliga brefvexling rörande hofvets angelägenheter, som äfven uppstått mellan pfalzgrefven och denne hofmästare, synes, att han också i detta hänseende snart intagit Johan Drakes rum och såsom rapportör icke spelat en synnerligt mindre vigtig roll än sin företrädare. För lärdom och skicklighet lemnas honom af samtiden icke heller mindre hedrande vitsord än det som egnas Johan Drake. Under den korta tid han var Carl Gustafs guvernör synes emellertid intet mera märkbart hafva tilldragit sig. Om underhandlingarna rörande fäktmästaren (l'escrimeur) och Gustaf Boosons bref i detta ämne hafva vi redan ofvanföre talat. I afseende på studierna skrifver Bengt Baaz till pfalzgrefvinnan Catharina, den 13 april 1636..."
"With Karl Gustav's return to Stockholm, the studies and education under Bengt Baaz and the new court master resumed their former course. And from the lively exchange of letters concerning the affairs of the court, which also arose between the Count Palatine and this court master, it seems that in this respect he also soon took Johan Drake's place and as a reporter played no less important a role than his predecessor. For learning and skill, his contemporaries gave him no less honourable praise than that given to Johan Drake. During the short time he was Karl Gustav's governor, however, nothing more noticeable seems to have occurred. We have already spoken above about the negotiations concerning the fencing master (l'escrimeur) and Gustaf Bosson's letter on this subject. Regarding the studies, Bengt Baaz writes to the Count Palatine Katarina, on April 13, 1636..."

Alors, suivant le gracieux ordre de Votre Grâce dans ma dernière lettre, je dois très humblement vous informer que Sa Grâce le duc Charles-Gustave continue ses études, par la grâce de Dieu, et progresse autant que son âge le lui permet. — —
English translation (my own):
Then, following Your Princely Grace's gracious command in my last letter, I must most submissively notify that His Princely Grace Duke Karl Gustav is continuing in his studies, by the grace of God, and is advancing as much as his age permits. — —
