VNA delle più Eroiche Idee della fù Christina Alessandra Regina di Suezia, fù quella d'intraprender sempre cose tali, che tendendo alla perpetuità potessero rendere Immortale il Suo Gran Nome. Nel numero di queste (pe'l genio sublime haueua con le Stelle) applicò all'Impresa creduta Impossibile di rintracciare vn Epatta Luni-Solare, Perpetua, e non bisognosa di correzione, da vn Principio verisimile del Mondo, sino alla sua possibile durazione. V'applicò con animo veramente Regio, e dop'intesa l'opinione di diuersi Letterati, mi chiamò da Milano a Roma, e vi feci sei Anni di studio per accomodarmi al suo piacimento, che terminò in questa, che depongo à Sacri Piedi della Santità Vostra, che essendosi degnata rauuiuarne la memoria nel di lei Monumento haurà la Clemenza ancora di dar luoco condegno à questa Reliquia della più famosa Principessa de nostri Secoli. Di questa fù l'Inuenzione, mia lasupputazione, e del Glorioso Regnare di Vostra Beatitudine la publicazione, che se auuiene, che riesca quale se la credette la Gran Christina, certo è, che non sarà la prima à cedere, anzi franca à resistere in ogni tempo all'ingiurie del Tempo. Ella fù studiata per la perpetuità degli Anni, e questi son quelli, che caminando à seconda delle Grand'Opere di Vostra Bentitudine [sic] nelle Santissime Riforme della Corte Palatina, stabilimento, e franchiggia de Maritimi Porti, Magnificenza delle fabriche Curiali, Instituzioni d'Ospitali, Assistenza de luoghi Pij, frequenti publiche Audienze, premuroso sollieuo de Sudditi, e Paci già concordate fra le Corone, rassegnano l'Opera, e l'Autore, che à piedi della Santità Vostra si constituisce.

L'une des idées les plus héroïques de feue Christine Alexandra, reine de Suède, fut d'entreprendre sans cesse des actions qui, par leur portée perpétuelle, immortaliseraient son nom. Parmi celles-ci (grâce à son génie sublime pour les étoiles), elle s'attela à la tâche, considérée comme impossible, de tracer une épacte luni-solaire, perpétuelle et ne nécessitant aucune correction, depuis le commencement vraisemblable du monde jusqu'à sa duration possible.
Elle s'y est consacrée avec un esprit véritablement royal, et après avoir entendu l'avis de divers lettrés, elle m'a fait venir de Milan à Rome, et j'ai passé six ans à l'étudier afin de me conformer à ses désirs, ce qui a abouti à cet ouvrage, que je dépose aux pieds sacrés de Votre Sainteté, qui, ayant daigné raviver sa mémoire dans son monument, aura également la clémence d'accorder une place digne à cette relique de la plus fameuse princesse de nos siècles.

En av den saliga Kristina Alexandras, Sveriges drottnings, mest heroiska idéer var att alltid företa sig sådant som, i riktning mot förgänglighet, kunde föreviga hennes stora namn. Bland dessa (på grund av hennes sublima genialitet för stjärnorna) ägnade hon sig åt den tanke omöjliga uppgiften att spåra en lunisolär epakt, evig och utan behov av korrigering, från världens sannolika början till dess möjliga varaktighet.

One of the most heroic ideas of the late Kristina Alexandra, Queen of Sweden, was to always undertake things that, tending toward perpetuity, could immortalise her great name. Among these (because of her sublime genius for the stars), she applied herself to the thought-impossible task of tracing a lunisolar epact, perpetual and in need of no correction, from the verisimilar beginning of the world to its possible duration.
She applied herself to it with a truly royal spirit, and after hearing the opinions of various literati, she called me from Milan to Rome, and I spent six years studying it so as to adapt myself to her pleasure, which culminated in this work, which I lay at the sacred feet of Your Holiness, who, having deigned to revive her memory in her monument, will also have the clemency to give a worthy place to this relic of the most famous princess of our centuries.
