The queen of Swede was at Chantillie, first by the cardinall, and aboute 3 howres after the king and duke of Anjou arived there incognito; but the queen discovered them, and after the ordnary complements passed, the king and she had some private discource. The same night the king rode back to Compiegne, and met her publiquely the next day at a house of marescall de la Moth's, in the midway betwixt that and Chantillie. The queen and cardinall rode alone in the coach, till they met the king. They have had great privacie, and her majesty expresses the greatest satisfaction imaginable. She at firste appeared resolved to goe for Pomerania, aboute the settlement of what she had reserved for herselfe, upon the resignation of her crowne; but nowe pretends to have received advertisement from thence, that it is done allready by the king's commands, and soe departs for Ittaly immediately. She sets forth from Compiegne to morrowe morning, goes by the way of Orleance, and soe through Piedmont. 'Tis thought, that she has taken this resolution since her first meeting with the cardinall. ... La reine de Suède était à Chantilly, d'abord par le cardinal, et environ 3 heures après que le roi et le duc d'Anjou y sont arrivés incognito; mais la reine les découvrit, et après les compliments ordinaires passés, le roi et elle eurent un entretien particulier. La même nuit, le roi retourna à Compiègne et la rencontra publiquement le lendemain dans une maison du maréchal de la Motte, sur le chemin entre là et Chantilly. La reine et le cardinal montèrent seuls dans le carrosse jusqu'à ce qu'ils rencontrèrent le roi. Ils ont eu une grande intimité, et Sa Majesté exprime la plus grande satisfaction imaginable. Elle parut d'abord résolue à aller pour la Poméranie, au sujet du règlement de ce qu'elle s'était réservé sur la démission de sa couronne ; mais maintenant elle prétend avoir reçu de là une annonce que c'est déjà fait par les ordres du roi, et ainsi elle part immédiatement pour l'Italie. Elle part de Compiègne demain matin, passe par Orléans, et ainsi par le Piémont. On pense qu'elle a pris cette résolution dès sa première rencontre avec le cardinal. ... J'ai conseillé à M. Drottningen av Sverige var i Chantilly, först av kardinalen, och ungefär 3 timmar efter att konungen och hertigen av Anjou anlände dit inkognito; men drottningen upptäckte dem, och efter att de vanliga komplimangerna hade passerat, hade konungen och hon ett privat samtal. Samma natt red kungen tillbaka till Compiègne och träffade henne offentligt nästa dag i ett hus hos maréchal de la Motte, på vägen emellan dit och Chantilly. Drottningen och kardinalen åkte ensamma i karrossen tills de träffade konungen. De har varit mycket privatim, och Hennes Majestät uttrycker den största tillfredsställelse man kan tänka sig. Hon verkade först besluten att bege sig till Pommern, om uppgörelsen av vad hon hade förbehållit sig vid sin avsägelse av kronan; men nu säger hon sig därifrån ha förnummit att det redan sker på konungens befallning, och därför beger hon sig genast till Italien. Hon ger sig av från Compiègne imorgon bittida, går genom Orléans och så genom Piemonte. Jag trodde att hon har fattat denna resolution sedan hennes första möte med kardinalen. ...
