Excerpt from President Viole's letter to Marigny on Kristina's conversion, dated November 20, 1655

The letter:

The queen Christina hath at last made open profession at Inspruck, and hath given advice thereof in a letter to his highness. It is eight years since that she made it in private; and seeing she could not keep her crown with this religion, she had rather forsake it than not follow the true religion, which is the Roman catholic.
