Madame,
Les grandes faveurs, que j'ai reçeus de vostre majesté, m'obligent à luy rendre compte de qui me touche, celuy en qui vous avez beaucoup d'interest. Et puis que par vostre faveur sous Dieu, j'ai desja surmonté les difficultez de la plus grande moitée du voyage, que j'ai à fayre par mer, j'ai pris l'hardiesse d'entretenir vostre majesté de mon succés jusques en ce lieu. Le premier de Juin, le beau navire Amiranta nous fist flotter sur la Baltique, et non-obstant les calmes, le vent contraire, et un terible orage, qui nous exercerent, par l'addresse de l'admirall Clerc, du capitaine Sincler, (de l'honnesteté, respect, et soin des quels envers moi et ma suite, je suis redevable comme de mille autres faveurs à vostre majesté) comme par l'obéissance du navire à ses experts conducteurs, nous mismes pied à terre à Tremon, le port de Lubec, mercredi le 7. Juin. Samedi nous arrivasmes à Hambourgh, où je suis à present dans la maison des Anglois: ce matin j'ai pensé ne voir point le soir, ayant esté travaillé d'un mal soudain, et tempête horrible qui m'a cuide renverser dans ce port. Mais il a pleu à Dieu me remettre en bonne mesure, ainsi que j'espere je ne serai empesché d'achever mon voyage. Je prie Dieu qu'il preserve vostre majesté et qu'il me rende si heureux, qu'estant rendu en mon pais, j'aye l'opportunité selon mon petit pouvoir de tesmoigner en effect que je suis,

Den utmärkta nåd, hvarmed Edar Maj:t bevärdigat mig, förbinder mig at göra reda för det som rörer mig, så vida Edar Maj:t däruti kan taga någon del. Och emedan jag, näst Guds hjelp, genom Edar Maj:ts försorg öfvervunnit svårigheterne af mer än hälften af min sjöresa, har jag tagit mig den friheten at underrätta Edar Maj:t om min resa hit. Den 1 Junii flöte vi på det vackra skeppet Amaranta behagligen fram i Balthiske hafvet, och, oaktadt lugn och motvind, och ändteligen en förskräckelig storm, som efter hvarannan anföll oss, landstege vi den 7 om Onsdagen i Travemunde, som är inloppet vid Lübeck, genom Amiralen CLERKS och Capitainen SINCLAIRS tilhjelp, för hvilkas hederliga, aktningsfulla och sorgfälliga bemötande mot mig och mitt medfölje, äfven som mångfaldig annan nåd, jag stadnar hos Edar Maj:t i underdånig förbindelse. Lördagen kommo vi til Hamburg, hvarest jag nu uppehåller mig hos Engelske Beskickningen: men i dag har jag haft ett så heftigt anfall af en storm, hvaraf jag så när drunknat här i hamnen, at jag icke tänkte få se aftonen. Gud har likväl behagat rädda mig, och satt mig i det stånd, at jag hoppas obehindrad kunna fortsätta min resa. Jag beder Gud at Han ville bevara Edar Maj:t, och göra mig så lyckelig, at jag, vid min återkomst i mitt fädernesland, må kunna, efter min lilla förmåga, å daga lägga huru jag i sjelfva verket är

English translation:
MADAM,
The great favours that I have received from your majesty, oblige me to render an account of this which concernes me, wherin your majesty hath much interest; since that by your favours under God, I have already overcome the difficulty of the greatest moiety of my voyage by sea. The Faire Amaranta, notwithstanding the calmes, contrary winds, and a terrible storme which wee endured, by the direction of admirall Clerc and captain Sincler, (of whose honesty, respect, and care towards me and my retinue) I am indebted as for a thousand other favours unto your majesty, by the obedience of the shipp to those conductors. Wee were landed on Wednesday the 7th of June att Tremon, the port of Lubeck; on Saturday wee arrived att Hamborough, where I am att present, in the English house. This morning I thought not to see the evening, being tormented with a sudden indisposition and a terrible tempest, which I thought would have overthrowne me in this haven.
After an extreame paine, it pleased God to restore me my health in a good measure; so, that notwithstanding this strange accident, I hope it will be no hinderance to my voyage. I pray God preserve your majesty, and make me so happy, being returned into my owne countrey, to have the opportunity according to my smale power, to testify that I am
