Vår synnerliga ynnest, etc. Vi have, tro män och kommissarier till danska fredstraktaten, sett och förnummit av Eder skrivelse utur Söderåkra av den 30 maj och dess bilagor hurusom I hava igenom Axel Thuresson låtit påminna fransyske ambassadören om Eder sammankomst igen, men intet annat fått till svar än en hop exkyser och uppskov, sedan ock att holländarna som annan dagen pingstdag äro förresta till Kristianopel, ändå inte vore vid bemälte Eder skrivelses avgång tillbakakomna, varav I göra Eder de tankar att de danska skola söka quibus cunque modis att appaisera de statiska.

Nu såsom holländarnas verk och negocierande haver alltid varit Oss suspekt och fuller endeles kunnat se att de fast mera sökte att nyttja våra segersamma vapen än som göra och efterkomma vad Oss de lova och alliansen dem tillbinder, så have Vi så förr som nu föga facit gjort på deras assistens och kooperation, utan alltid hållit det säkraste att hemställa Gud saken och sätta Oss i det postur att Vi på en och annan händelse kunne stå på oss själva, eftersom Vi och Våra consilia därhän dirigera vele, förhoppas att Gud vår rättmätiga vapen varder än ytterligare välsignandes. Önske allenast att om holländarna intet allvar hava att simma i med oss det de då våra dessänger inte turbera och hindra ville.

Akte onödigt Eder påminna det I dem den saken än vidare behörligen remonstrera och hos dem alla præjudicia efter möjligheten förekomma. I hava ock eljest gjort rätt däri att I än inte hava velat komma till någon av de föresatta gradus i instruktionen, utan låtit ankomma på de danska kommissariers eget förslag om försäkringen. Vele nådigst att I på den fot bliva ståendes till dess Eder någon av samma grader tillbjudes och I sedan däröver negociera kunna. Befalle Eder härmed Gud, etc.

Notre faveur spéciale, etc. Nous avons, féals hommes et commissaires au traité de paix danois, vu et entendu par votre lettre de Söderåkra, du 30 mai, et par ses annexes, comment vous avez, par l'intermédiaire d'Axel Thuresson, rappelé à l'ambassadeur de France votre nouvelle réunion, mais vous n'avez reçu en réponse qu'un grand nombre d'excuses et d'ajournements, et aussi que les Hollandais, qui étaient partis pour Christianopel le deuxième jour de la Pentecôte, n'étaient pas encore revenus au moment du départ de votre lettre, d'où vous formez l'idée que les Danois essaieront par tous les moyens d'apaiser les ambassadeurs des États.

Or, comme Nous avons toujours soupçonné les Hollandais de travailler et de négocier, et que Nous avons pu voir plus clairement qu'ils cherchaient en réalité à utiliser nos armes victorieuses plutôt qu'à faire et à remplir ce qu'ils Nous promettent et ce que l'alliance les oblige à faire, Nous avons, comme auparavant, mis peu de confiance dans leur aide et leur coopération, mais Nous avons toujours pensé qu'il était plus sûr de confier l'affaire à Dieu et de Nous mettre dans une position où Nous pourrions Nous tenir debout dans un cas ou dans l'autre, comme Nous et Nos conseillers le montrons, Nous espérons que Dieu bénira encore nos armes justes. Nous souhaitons seulement que, si les Hollandais n'ont pas l'intention sérieuse de se joindre à nous dans cette affaire, ils ne troublent pas et n'entravent pas nos desseins.

Nous ne trouvons pas nécessaire de vous rappeler que vous devez leur faire des remontrances à ce sujet et éviter autant que possible tout préjudice de leur part. Vous avez aussi bien fait de ne pas avoir encore voulu arriver à l'un des degrés proposés dans l'instruction, mais vous avez laissé arriver la proposition des commissaires danois pour l'assurance. Nous vous prions très gracieusement de rester sur cette base jusqu'à ce qu'on vous offre un degré du même ordre et que vous puissiez alors négocier à ce sujet. Nous vous recommandons par la présente à Dieu, etc.

Our especial favour, etc. We have, faithful men and commissioners to the Danish peace treaty, seen and heard from your letter from Söderåkra, of May 30, and from its attachments how you have, through Axel Thuresson, reminded the French ambassador of your meeting again, but you have received nothing in response other than a great deal of excuses and postponements, and also that the Dutch, who had left for Kristianopel on the second day of Pentecost, had not yet returned by the time of the departure of your letter, from which you form the idea that the Danes will try in whatever ways to appease the States' ambassadors.

Now, as the work and negotiations of the Dutch have always been suspect to Us, and We have been able to see more clearly that they were indeed seeking to utilise our victorious weapons than to do and fulfill what they promise Us and what the alliance obliges them to do, so We have, as before, put little trust in their assistance and cooperation, but We have always held it safest to entrust the matter to God and put Ourself in a position that We could stand on Our own feet in one or another event, as We and Our counsels are directing the way, We hope that God will further bless our righteous arms. We only wish that if the Dutch have no serious intention of joining in the matter with us, they would not disturb and hinder our designs.

We find it unnecessary to remind you that you should remonstrate with them about this matter further and to prevent prejudice from all of them as much as possible. You have also done right in that you have not yet wanted to come to any of the degrees proposed in the instruction, but you have let the Danish commissioners' own proposition for the insurance arrive. We most graciously request that you remain on this footing until you are offered one of the same degrees and you can then negotiate about it. We hereby commend you to God, etc.
