Le 19. Juin 1683.

Mon Cousin, je ne puis m'empêcher de vous écrire en faveur de Massimiliano fils du Colonel Cleuter, qui après avoir servi ici huit ans en qualité de Capitaine dans les Gardes de Sa Sainteté, dont il a commandé une Compagnie, a en l'envie d'aller chercher fortune dans la guerre contre l'Ennemi commun. Et comme ce Gentilhomme a été mon Page & a donné toujours des marques de cœur & d'honneur, qui l'ont rendu digne de ma protection, cela m'oblige de vous le recommander, pour lui obtenir dans vos Troupes quelque emploi qui lui convienne, & dont vous le jugerez capable. Je vous prie de croire que je vous serai sensiblement obligée de toutes les bontés que vous aurez pour lui à ma considération. Je vous assure de l'amitié & de l'estime que j'ai pour votre mérite, & je prie Dieu qu'il vous tienne en sa sainte & digne garde.

Min kusin,

Jag kan inte låta bli att skriva till Er till förmån för Massimiliano, son till överste Cleuter, som efter att ha tjänstgjort här i åtta år som kapten för Hans Helighets garde, varav han befälhavde ett kompani, har en önskan att söka lycka i krig mot gemensamma fienden. Och då denne herre varit min page och alltid givit betygelser av hjärta och ära som gjort honom värdig mitt beskydd, förpliktar detta mig att rekommendera honom till Er att skaffa honom i Era trupper någon anställning som är lämplig för honom och som Ni kommer att anse honom kapabel till. Jag ber Er att tro att jag kommer att vara Er mycket tacksam för all den vänlighet Ni visar honom i min konsideration. I cannot help writing to you in favour of Massimiliano, the son of Colonel Cleuter, who after having served here eight years as Captain of His Holiness's Guards, of which he commanded a company, has the desire to to seek fortune in war against the common enemy. And as this gentleman has been my page and has always given marks of heart and honour which have made him worthy of my protection, this obliges me to recommend him to you to obtain for him in your troops some employment which will be suitable for him, and of which you will deem him capable. I beg you to believe that I shall be greatly obliged to you for all the kindness you show him in my consideration. I assure you of the friendship and esteem I have for your merit, and I pray to God that He have you in His holy and worthy keeping.
