Mon Cousin, je prends la confiance de recommander à V. A. le Sieur François Montoio, qui sert dans le Régiment du Maréchal Caprara, vous priant de le protéger & favoriser autant qu'il mérite de l'être, puisque je veux bien vous être obligée de toutes les bontés que vous aurez pour ce Gentilhomme en mon considération. J'embrasse avec d'autant plus de joie cette occasion, qu'elle me fournit celle de me réjouir avec V. A. de la gloire que vous avez acquise en servant si glorieusement & si utilement l'Empereur & la Chrétienté. Je souhaite de tout mon cœur que la fortune seconde toujours la grandeur de votre courage, & favorise vos héroïques actions, comme vous le méritez par cette valeur si distinguée que Dieu vous a donnée, & qu'il conserve V. A. pour la gloire de notre Siécle & pour le bien de la Chrétienté.

Min kusin,

Jag tar förtroendet att rekommendera till Ers Höghet signor Francesco Montoio, som tjänstgör i marskalken Capraras regemente, bedjande Er att skydda och gynna honom så mycket som han förtjänar att vara, ty jag är villig att vara skyldig mot Er för all den vänlighet som Ni kommer att ha för denne herre i min övervägande. Jag omfamnar detta tillfälle med desto större glädje, eftersom det ger mig att glädjas med Ers Höghet över den härlighet som Ni har förvärvat genom att tjäna kejsaren och kristenheten så härligt och så nyttigt. English translation (my own):

My cousin,

I take the confidence to recommend to Your Highness Signor Francesco Montoio, who serves in the Marshal Caprara's regiment, asking you to protect and favour him as much as he deserves to be, as I am willing to be obliged to you for all the kindnesses that you will have for this gentleman in my consideration. I embrace this opportunity with all the more joy, as it affords me that of rejoicing with Your Highness in the glory which you have acquired by serving the Emperor and Christendom so gloriously and so usefully. I hope with all my heart that fortune will always second the greatness of your courage and favour your heroic actions, as you deserve by this value so distinguished that God has given you, and that He preserve Your Highness for the glory of our century and for the good of Christendom.

Note: In accordance with the nobility's ideals in the early modern era, kings and queens considered themselves siblings; when talking to someone of a lower rank than their own, they would refer to that person as "my cousin", regardless of whether or not they were related.
