Ma Cousine, le Colonel Cleuter qui est un des fidel[e]s seruiteurs de ma Cour m'ayant demandè cette Lettre de recommandation aupres de Vous pour luy obtenir V[ost]re protection dans l'interests qu'il a auec Theobalde Schenouer Marchand de Cassel J'ay voulù accorder à ses bons seruices cette faueur, Vous priant tres instamment d'auoir pour luy cette bontè de le fauoriser en ma consideration a fin qu'il puisse tirer promptement la satisfaction de ce qui luy est iustem[en]t dèú Vous asseurant que Je Vous en seray obligèe comme de la plus singuliere espreuue que Vous me pourrièz donner de V[ost]re amitiè à la quelle Je respondray tousiours par des marques dignes de l'estime que J'ay pour V[ost]re merite priant dieu qu'il Vous tienne ma Cousine en Sa Sainte, et digne garde

Efter att överste Cleuter, som är en av mitt hovs trogna tjänare, har bett mig om detta rekommendationsbrev från Er för att få Ert skydd för honom i det intresse han har hos Theobald Schenover, en köpman i Cassel, har jag velat bevilja detta gunst åt hans goda tjänster, och ber Er innerligt att ha godheten för honom att gynna honom i min konsideration, så att han omedelbart kan få tillfredsställelsen av vad rättvist tillkommer honom, försäkrande Er att jag kommer att vara skyldig som den mest singuljär bevis på att Ni kan ge mig om Er vänskap, som jag alltid kommer att svara med betygelser värdiga den aktning som jag har för Er förtjänst, bedjande Gud att han har Er, min kusine, i sin heliga och värdiga vård.

Colonel Cleuter, who is one of the faithful servants of my court, having asked me for this letter of recommendation from you to obtain your protection for him in the interest he has with Theobald Schenover, a merchant of Cassel, I have wished to grant this favour to his good services, begging you most earnestly to have the goodness for him to favour him in my consideration, so that he may promptly derive the satisfaction of what is justly due to him, assuring you that I will be obliged as the most singular proof that you can give me of your friendship, to which I will always respond by marks worthy of the esteem that I have for your merit, praying God that He have you, my cousin, in His holy and worthy keeping.
