J'y ai tant de confiance en votre amitié que je ne fais pas difficulté de demander votre assistence en faveur de sieur Jean Baudat de Beauregard qui a épousé ici la demoiselle Giulia Diodati demoiselle Luquaise sans attendre le consentement du sieur de Beauregard son père, et comme j'ai traité ce mariage, le croyant assortable aux deux parties je me sents obbligée de le proteger et de chercher les moyens de le faire agrèer au père de ce Gentilhomme qui ne se trouve coupable envers luy que d'un peu trop d'impatience dont je suis cause, l'ayant persuadé de le faire sur la parole que je lui ai donné de lui en faire obtenir son pardon, ce que j'espère par de vos bons offices, et par l'autorité que vous avez sur le dit père, et pour vous informer particulierement des qualités de la demoiselle, je vous dirai qu'elle est des premieres maisons de Lucques, parente de messieurs les cardinaux Spada et Bonvisi, cousine de l'avocat Bottini prelat de merite qui est à present auditeur de Sa Sainteté et niece du chevalier Donato grand prieur de Venise. Elle a de l'esprit et de la vertu, est aimable et bien faite, et son mérite me la fait aimer et proteger toujours. Je vous recommande donc leurs interets de tout mon cœur afin que par votre authorité ils puissent obtenir un favorable accueil du père, et de le disposer d'agréer la consideration que son fils a eu de m'obeir et de me plaîre en l'epousant.
J'espère que tout leur sera favorable par votre authorité, et vous prie de m'obliger en cette occasion qui m'est très sensible, priant Dieu qu'il vous tienne en sa sainte garde

I have so much confidence in your friendship that I have no difficulty in asking for your assistance in favour of Monsieur Jean Baudet de Beauregard, who here has married Signora Giulia Diodati, a young lady from Lucca, without waiting for the consent of Monsieur de Beauregard, his father. And as I have treated this marriage, believing it suited to both parties, I feel obliged to protect it, and to seek the means of making it acceptable to the father of this gentleman, who finds himself guilty towards him only of a bit too much impatience, of which I am the cause, having persuaded him to obtain his pardon, which I hope for by your good services and by the authority which you have over his father. And to inform you particularly of the qualities of the young lady, I will tell you that she is from the first Houses of Lucca, related to the Cardinals Spada and Bonvisi, a cousin of the Consistorial Advocate Bottini, a prelate of merit who is now auditor of His Holiness, and she is the niece of Cavaliere Diodati, the Grand Prior of Venice. She has wit and virtue, is amiable and well formed, and her merit has always made me love and protect her. I therefore recommend their interests to you with all my heart, so that by your authority they may be favourably received by the father, and dispose him to accept their marriage by the consideration that his son has had for obeying me and pleasing me in marrying Madamigella Diodati.
