Le 26. Avril 1685.

Monsieur le Procureur Angelo Morosini, je ne puis pas refuser à Antoine Peruzzi, Vénitien, cette Lettre de faveur auprès de vous, puisqu'il m'a bien servi quelque tems en qualité de Lanspessade, & je lui ai promis ma protection en cette occasion. Le zéle & l'envie qu'il a d'aller servir son Prince avec un de ses fils contre l'Ennemi commun, lui fait desirer votre protection. Je vous prie de le considérer comme une personne que je recommande, & de lui accorder pour l'amour de moi toutes les faveurs dont vous le jugerez digne, vous assurant que je vous en saurai bon gré, en attendant je prie Dieu qu'il vous tienne en sa sainte garde.

Den 26 april 1685.

Herr prokurör Angelo Morosini,

Jag kan inte vägra Antonio Peruzzi, en venetianare, detta gunstbrev till Er, eftersom han har tjänat mig väl under en tid som lancia spezzata, och jag har lovat honom mitt skydd vid detta tillfälle. Den iver och önskan han har att gå och tjäna sin furste med en av hans söner mot den gemensamme fienden får honom att önska Ert skydd. Jag ber Er att betrakta honom som en person som jag rekommenderar, och att för min skull bevilja honom alla de ynnestar som Ni kommer att döma honom värdig, försäkrande Er om att jag kommer att vara Er tacksam; emellertid ber jag Gud att han har Er i sin heliga vård.

English translation (my own):

April 26, 1685.

Lord Procurator Angelo Morosini,

I cannot refuse Antonio Peruzzi, a Venetian, this letter of favour to you, as he has served me well for some time as a lancia spezzata, and I have promised him my protection on this occasion. The zeal and desire he has to go and serve his prince with one of his sons against the common enemy makes him desire your protection. I beg you to consider him as a person whom I recommend, and to grant him, for my sake, all the favours of which you will judge him worthy, assuring you that I will be grateful to you; in the meantime I pray God that He have you in His holy keeping.
