Jag kan inte vägra Antonio Peruzzi, en venetianare, detta gunstbrev till Er, eftersom han har tjänat mig väl under en tid som lancia spezzata, och jag har lovat honom mitt skydd vid detta tillfälle. Den iver och önskan han har att gå och tjäna sin furste med en av hans söner mot den gemensamme fienden får honom att önska Ert skydd. Jag ber Er att betrakta honom som en person som jag rekommenderar, och att för min skull bevilja honom alla de ynnestar som Ni kommer att döma honom värdig, försäkrande Er om att jag kommer att vara Er tacksam; emellertid ber jag Gud att han har Er i sin heliga vård.

I cannot refuse Antonio Peruzzi, a Venetian, this letter of favour to you, as he has served me well for some time as a lancia spezzata, and I have promised him my protection on this occasion. The zeal and desire he has to go and serve his prince with one of his sons against the common enemy makes him desire your protection. I beg you to consider him as a person whom I recommend, and to grant him, for my sake, all the favours of which you will judge him worthy, assuring you that I will be grateful to you; in the meantime I pray God that He have you in His holy keeping.
Italian translation of the original (my own):
Signor procuratore Angelo Morosini,
Non posso rifiutare ad Antonio Peruzzi, veneziano, questa lettera di favore appresso di voi, poiché egli mi ha servito bene per qualche tempo nella qualità di lancia spezzata, e gli ho promesso la mia protezione in queste occasioni. Lo zelo e il desiderio che ha di andare a servire il suo principe con uno dei suoi figli contro il nemico comune gli fanno desiderare la vostra protezione. Vi prego di considerarlo come persona da me raccomandata e di fargli nei miei confronti tutti i favori di cui lo riterrete capace, assicurandovi che ve ne sarò grata; ed intanto prego Dio che vi tenga nella sua santa guardia. Roma, 28 aprile 1685. —
