Mémoires concernant Christine, volume 2, page 39, Johan Arckenholtz, 1751
"... To hasten her journey, she only took a small train. She passed through Nuremberg and arrived in Hamburg on August 18. The magistrate and the principals of the city met her with fifty carriages. Among other public ministers, Monsieur de Terlon and Lord Sidney, ambassadors of France and England, also went to meet her and accompanied her to her house. Having rested a little, she wrote this letter to Lord Bååth, governor general of her domains in Sweden, where she was careful not to explain herself except in general terms on the subject of her journey."
The letter:

English translation (my own):
Monsieur Bååth,
I have received your letters with great joy and I am delighted with the good disposition of the Regents towards me. I have no doubt that all good and true Swedes give me every sort of satisfaction in my just claims, and I assure you that I will make myself so reasonable that it will be known that I prefer the advantages of the Crown over all other interests as well as my own. I have not changed my resolutions that I gave you while I was in Rome. I have no doubt that you will execute them with the same fidelity that you have had for my service, and I hope to see you soon in Sweden, where I will infallibly visit before the Riksdag begins, having no inconvenience or danger that can prevent me from rendering the country the service I owe her on such an important occasion. And although your letter makes it known to me that it is wished that I did not come, I beg you to justify my intentions to the Regency and to assure all the good Swedes that they are wrong to prevent my arrival, as my presence will certainly not be entirely useless for the good of the State and will not will not harm special interests either, provided they are not contrary to that of the Crown, for I declare myself an irreconcilable enemy of the enemies of the State. I ensure that there is no member of the Senate who willingly gives a surety for me, that I am not capable of having other feelings, or that there is someone who be in error on this subject, time and my actions will force him to do me justice and to know that I have more passion and love for the good of the State, me alone, than all other men. I beg you to follow the orders that I have given you, and I assure you that I will have all the gratitude that you deserve for your services. Hamburg, August 21, 1660.
