The letter:

Monsieur Leyonberg. En réponse à votre lettre du 18. de Mai, je vous dirai, que je suis persuadée de votre innocence au sujèt des mille Ecus dont il est question, sachant fort bien que tout ce que Broberg a dit là-dessus est faux. Pour Cederkrans s'il s'acquitte bien à l'avenir de son devoir dans mon service, comme je veux l'espérer, il n'aura rien à craindre des mauvais offices d'autrui. Au reste j'ai agréé les offres que vous me faites de vos services, priant Dieu qu'il vous fasse prospérer. Rome le 5. Juillet 1681.

Herr Leijonberg,

Som svar på Ert brev av den 18 maj skall jag säga Er att jag är övertygad om Er oskuld angående de tusen kronorna i fråga, väl medveten om att allt vad Broberg sagt i ämnet är falskt. Vad Cederkrantz beträffar, om han i framtiden utför sin plikt i min tjänst väl, som jag vill hoppas, har han inget att frukta för andras dåliga tjänster. Dessutom har jag accepterat de erbjudanden Ni ger mig av Era tjänster och ber till Gud att han välsigne Er.

In reply to your letter of May 18, I will tell you that I am persuaded of your innocence concerning the thousand crowns in question, knowing full well that all that Broberg has said on the subject is false. As for Cederkrantz, if he performs his duty in my service well in the future, as I want to hope, he will have nothing to fear from the bad services of others. Besides, I have accepted the offers you make to me of your services, praying to God that He let you prosper.
