La Reine ne tarda pas d'en apprendre la raison. La Régence, fâchée que le traitement qu'elle avoit fait l'année passée à Christine, ne fût nullement approuvé par les Etats, s'imagina de pouvoir en quelque maniére éluder l'effet de leur affection pour la Reine, en lui députant un Emissaire, pour lui persuader d'acquiescer plutôt aux arrangemens de ses affaires que la Régence prendroit avec elle, que d'insister trop vertement qu'elles fussent vuidées par le concours des Etats. ..."
"The impatience so natural to man when he awaits the outcome of an affair in which he takes a great interest, prompted the Queen to write this note to her minister (Lettere ai suoi ministri, p. 135.). ...
The Queen soon learned the reason. The regency, annoyed that the treatment it had given Kristina the previous year had not been approved by the Estates, imagined it could somehow circumvent the effect of their affection for the Queen by sending her an emissary to persuade her to acquiesce to the arrangements the regency would make with her regarding her affairs rather than insisting too vehemently that they be voided through the concourse of the Estates. ..."

La Poste d'aujourd'hui n'a porté aucune de vos Lettres, dont je m'étonne d'autant plus, que je les attendois avec impatience. J'espére les recevoir demain. Cependant je vous recommande de faire toutes les diligences imaginables pour trouver ce Manuscrit dont le Secretaire vous a écrit de ma part; car il m'importe extrêmement de l'avoir, & vous me rendrez en cela un service que je préférerai à tous les autres. Dieu vous conserve.

Dagens post innehöll inga av Era brev, vilket förvånar mig desto mer, eftersom jag otåligt väntade på dem. Jag hoppas få dem imorgon. Under tiden rekommenderar jag att Ni gör den mest flitiga ansträngning man kan tänka sig för att finna detta manuskript som sekreteraren skrev till Er på mina vägnar, ty det är oerhört viktigt för mig att ha det, och Ni kommer att ge mig häri en tjänst som jag föredrar framför alla andra. Gud bevare Er.

Today's post did not carry any of your letters, which amazes me all the more, because I was impatiently awaiting them. I hope to receive them tomorrow. In the meantime, I recommend that you make the most diligent effort imaginable to find this manuscript which the secretary wrote to you on my behalf, because it is extremely important to me to have it, and you will render me in this a service that I will prefer over all the others.
