... Förgången onssdagh den 7 Julii woro 4 Strålsundische gesandter för middagen til audientz hooss H. K. M:tt præsente Regimine ut antea, tå war C G inne hooss H. M:tt och the andre til thess gesanterna kunde wara öfuer Rijkz Salen kompne, och emädan alla stälte sigh i order, eij tilbiudandess honom någon platz eller ställe, giorde han sitt reuerentz och gick vth, mötandes legaterna i innersta förmaket, doch eij saluterandess. Hoc facto stötte Cancellarius på Feltherren, män H. N:de Gref Peder och H. ... Förgången onsdag, den 7 juli, voro 4 strålsundska gesandter förr middagen till audiens hos Hennes Kungliga Majestät, præsente regimine ut antea. Då var Karl Gustav inne hos Hennes Majestät och de andra till dess gesanterna kunde vara över Rikssalen komna, och emedan alla stälte sig i order, ej tillbjudandes honom någon plats eller ställe, gjorde han sitt reverens och gick ut, mötandes legaterna i innersta förmaket, dock ej saluterandes.

Hoc facto stötte cancellarius på fältherren, män Hans Nåde greve Peder och Hans Nåde riksadmiralis bytte färgor och rödnade i ansiktet. Sedan frågade regni mareschallus varför det skedde. Svarade Karl Gustav sig ej veta var han skulle stå, och sedan at det skulle bliva långa orationer, dem han ståendes ej kunde utbida; därom haver ingen vidare talat.

Nominati legati begära uno verbo, renovationem et prolongationem confœderationis. Och emedan jag visste i detta audiens något sådant förefalla, lät jag Hans Furstliga Nåde hertig Adolf inte gå över förrän till måltids; sic privati sunt utroque principum; men Deras Furstliga Nåder frökerna voro tillstädes. ...

... Mercredi dernier, le 7 juillet, 4 envoyés de Stralsund ont eu une audience avant midi avec Sa Majesté Royale, dans le gouvernement actuel comme auparavant. Charles Gustave était alors à l'intérieur avec Sa Majesté et les autres jusqu'à ce que les envoyés puissent entrer dans la salle d'État, et parce que tout le monde était en ordre, aucune place ne lui étant offerte, il fit sa révérence et sortit, rencontrant les ambassadeurs dans le plus intime vestibule, mais sans les saluer.

Ceci étant fait, le Grand Chancelier heurta le Maréchal, mais Sa Grâce le Comte Pierre et Sa Grâce le Grand Amiral devinrent rouges au visage. English translation (my own):

Stockholm, July 10, 1641.
... Last Wednesday, the 7th of July, 4 envoys from Stralsund had an audience before noon with Her Royal Majesty, in the present government as before. Karl Gustav was then inside with Her Majesty and the others until the envoys could come into the Hall of State, and because everyone was positioned in order, no place being offered him, he made his reverence and went out, meeting the ambassadors in the innermost vestibule, but without saluting them.

This being done, the Grand Chancellor bumped into the Field Marshal, but His Grace Count Per and His Grace the Grand Admiral got red in the face. Then the Grand Marshal of the Realm asked why it happened. Karl Gustav replied that he did not know where he should stand, and then that there would be long speeches, which he could not deliver while standing; no one spoke about it further.

The aforementioned ambassadors desire, in a word, the renewal and prolongation of the confederation. And because I knew that something like that would come up during this audience, I did not let His Princely Grace Duke Adolf go over until luncheon; thus they are deprived of both the princes; but Their Princely Graces the Ladies were present. ...
