J'ay receù agreablem[en]t Vos remerciments aussi-bien que l'expression du Zele que Vous [...] tesmoignez [...] avoir pour Mon service. Soyèz p[er]suadè que J'embrasseray tousiours avec plaisir les occasions de favoriser Vous et Vostre famille. Cependant J'ay de la maniere que Je l'ay fait iusques icy, et dieu Vous prosp[er]e.

Den 20 juli 1686.

Jag har med glädje mottagit Er tacksägelse, samt uttrycket för den nit som Ni betygar att ha för min tjänst. Var försäkrad att jag alltid med glädje kommer att omfamna möjligheter att gynna både Er och Er familj, som jag har gjort hittills. Gud välsigne Er.

English translation (my own):

July 20, 1686.

I have received with joy your thanks, as well as the expression of the zeal which you testify to have for my service. Be assured that I will always gladly embrace opportunities to benefit both you and your family, as I have done thus far. God bless you.

Den 20 juli '86.

Jag har behagligt mottagit Er tacksägelse samt uttrycket för den iver Ni betygar för min tjänst. Var försäkrad att jag alltid med glädje kommer att omfamna tillfällen för att gynna Er och Er familj på det sätt som jag hittills har gjort, och Gud välsigne Er.
