Altre volte io hò raccomandato a V. A. gl'interessi del fù Duca di Nortumbria, e singolarmente una sua lite con l'Abbate Fabbroni, ed havendo ella havuto la bontà di protegere le buone ragioni del Duca, ottenne più sentenze favorevoli, e l'ultima fù deciseva con pieni voti, e sottoscrizzione di tutta la Rota. Hora non ostante, l'Abbate medemo sperando forse vantaggio dalla morte del Duca, procura, per tutte le vie, d'ottener le revisione di detta Causa; Ond'io che hò riguardato sempre con particolar propensione gl'interessi, e le convenienze del fù Duca, havendo io hora più potenti motivi di protegere il presente Duca suo figlio, per esser egli Cavalier della mia Camera, è più degno d'esser protetto ed ajutato nelle sue giuste occorrenze, mossa anche dalla benevolenza che hà acquistato nel mio servitio di tanti anni il presente Duca di Nortumbria, f[i]glio del defonto; vengo a pregar L'A. V. che voglia continuar verso di lui, e della sua Casa gli atti della sua beneficenza, e protezzione, col non permetter la revisione di detta Causa, che sarebbe loro di gravissimo pregiudizio. Sarà questa un'opra degna della pietà di V. A. alla qual'io ne professerò special obligazione, e mi confermo.

D'autres fois j'ai recommandé à Votre Altesse les intérêts du feu duc de Northumbrie, et singulièrement une querelle avec l'abbé Fabbroni, et ayant eu la bonté de protéger les bonnes raisons du duc, j'ai obtenu des sentences plus favorables, et la dernière a été décidée avec toutes les votes et subscriptions de toute la Rota. Néanmoins, le même abbé, espérant peut-être profiter de la mort du duc, se procure, par tous les moyens, pour obtenir la révision de ladite cause. C'est pourquoi moi, qui ai toujours considéré avec une propension particulière les intérêts et les commodités du feu duc, ayant maintenant des raisons plus puissantes de protéger le duc présent, son fils, pour être un chevalier de ma chambre, est plus digne d'être protégé et aidé dans ses justes événements, émue aussi de la bienveillance que l'actuel duc de Northumbrie, fils du défunt, a acquise à mon service depuis tant d'années. Andra gånger har jag rekommenderat Ers Höghet den avlidne hertigen av Northumberlands intressen, och särskilt ett gräl med abboten Fabbroni, och efter att ha haft godheten att skydda hertigens goda skäl, erhållit gynnsammare straff, och den sista avgjordes med alla röster och prenumeration från hela Rotan. Icke desto mindre skaffar samme abbot, i hopp om kanske fördel av hertigens död, med alla medel att erhålla revision av nämnda orsak. Other times I have recommended to Your Highness the interests of the late Duke of Northumberland, and singularly a quarrel with the Abbot Fabbroni, and having had the goodness to protect the good reasons of the Duke, obtained more favourable sentences, and the last was decided with all the votes and subscription of the whole Rota. Nevertheless, the same Abbot, hoping perhaps advantage from the death of the Duke, procures, by all means, to obtain the revision of said cause. Wherefore I, who have always regarded with particular propensity the interests and conveniences of the late Duke, now having more powerful reasons to protect the present Duke, his son, for being a Cavalier of my Chamber, is more worthy of being protected. and helped in his just occurrences, moved also by the benevolence that the present Duke of Northumberland, son of the deceased one, has acquired in my service for so many years. I come to beg Your Highness that you will continue the acts of your beneficence and protection towards him and his house, without allowing the review of said cause, which would be of very serious prejudice to them.
