Le 22. Juillet 1685.

Monsieur mon Cousin, je ne puis pas refuser au Baron Ulfsparre cette Lettre de faveur auprès de vous, puisque c'est un Gentilhomme Suédois à qui je souhaite toute la satisfaction possible. Il desire de vous servir dans les présentes conjonctures de guerre, espérant d'obtenir de vous en ma considération quelque emploi digne de lui. C'est pourquoi je vous le recommande avec empressement, vous priant d'être persuadé de la reconnoissance que j'en aurai, si vous lui accordez pour moi cette satisfaction, & je suis, &c.

Den 22 september 1667.

Min herr kusin,

Jag kan ej neka friherre Ulfsparre detta gunstbrev till Er, då han är en svensk herre som jag önskar all möjlig tillfredsställelse. Han önskar tjäna Er i de nuvarande krigskonjunkturerna, i hopp om att få av Er i min övervägande en anställning som är värdig honom. Det är därför jag rekommenderar honom till Er med iver och ber Er vara övertygad om den tacksamhet som jag kommer att ha för honom om Ni ger honom denna tillfredsställelse för mig, och jag är, osv.

English translation (my own):

September 22, 1667.

My lord cousin,

I cannot refuse Baron Ulfsparre this letter of favour to you, as he is a Swedish gentleman to whom I wish every possible satisfaction. He desires to serve you in the present conjunctures of war, hoping to obtain from you in my consideration some employment worthy of him. This is why I recommend him to you with eagerness, begging you to be persuaded of the gratitude that I will have for him if you grant him this satisfaction for me, and I am, etc.

Note: In accordance with the nobility's ideals in the early modern era, kings and queens considered themselves siblings; when talking to someone of a lower rank than their own, they would refer to that person as "my cousin", regardless of whether or not they were related.
