Och ehuruväl Vi icke vele förmoda att med flottans utlopp utur skären så länge dröjas skall att Vi Edert svar på detta Vårt brev bekomma kunne, dock emedan ovisst är huru vinden och väderleken emellertid sig fogandes varder, så skulle Oss vara behagligt om I med forderligaste ville upptäcka Oss Eder tankar om vad dessäng I förmena vara vid denna tids konstitution rådligast att fatta förbemälte Vår flotta och vad amiralen herr Erik Ryning kan vara till att göra eller låta om han kommer till att sätta och lägra sig i Sundet med flottan, så ock huruvida all främmande seglation av och an må och bör på den händelse hava sitt fria lopp, att Vi därav se måge huru när Eder mening och betänkande med Våra konsilier överenskomma. Our especial favour, etc. As We, faithful men and commissioners to the Danish peace treaty, did on last Friday, which was the 2nd of this month, sent secretary Israel Israelsson back from here down to you again with Our letter and relation of your questions sent here with him, so We want to assume that by this time he will have arrived to you and that you will have understood Our final opinion regarding the guarantee and in which you will hold yourselves to that end, as indicated both by Our said letter given to him, as well as in his oral report.

We want to wait to see what the outcome will be in the future, which We hope will be in line with Our intention. We are more or less ready with Our great fleet and will make haste so that it can reach the skerries within a few days and lie there ready to sail, as We are also now in the process of making a certain resolution regarding its design.

And although We do not want to assume that the departure of the fleet from the skerries will be delayed so long that We could receive your answer to this Our letter, as it is uncertain how the wind and weather will behave, We would be pleased if you would most kindly reveal to Us your thoughts about what you believe to be the most advisable thing to do for Our fleet under the current constitution and what the Lord Admiral Erik Ryning can do or let happen if he comes to set up camp in the Sound with the fleet, as well as whether all foreign sailing to and fro may and should in that event have its free course, so that We may see from this how your opinion and consideration concur with Our counsels.
