Vad den stettinske utskickade Fridericus Pascovius vid sin återkomst från Eder på pommerska hansestädernas vägnar haver här hos Oss anhålla låtit, det sände Vi Eder härhos bilagevis tillhanda.
Vad nu Eder i bägge ärender står till göra, se Vi gärna att I därutinnan bemälte Hansestäder gratificere, särdeles med tillackorderande av tullfriheten i Sundet. Det andra är av mera eftertänkande, icke därföre att Vi ju gärna skulle vilja begripa bemälte hansestäder icke mindre än andra pommerska städer och invånare i de villkor och friheter som kunde Oss och Generalstaterna tillackorderas förmedelst någon ängare allians på bägge sidor, eftersom vill berättes att dessas ambassadör skall hava order och lov av sina principaler till föreslå och söka en alliansgaranti med Oss att upprätta.

Quant à ce qui vous incombe désormais dans ces deux domaines, Nous serions heureuses que vous accordiez la faveur auxdites villes hanséatiques, particulièrement en leur accordant la liberté de coutumes dans le Sund. La seconde question est plus tardive, non pas parce que Nous serions clairement heureuses d'inclure les villes hanséatiques, au même titre que les autres villes et habitants de Poméranie, dans les conditions et libertés qui pourraient Nous être accordées, ainsi qu'aux États généraux, par une alliance plus étroite des deux côtés, car leurs ambassadeurs ont reçu l'ordre et la permission de leurs supérieurs de proposer et de chercher à établir une garantie d'alliance avec Nous.
Mais comme Nous ne vous avons pas encore donné d'instructions et d'autorisations aussi complètes pour conclure une telle alliance que celles que la première pourrait avoir, la question reste ouverte, et Nous avons le temps de l'expliquer plus en détail. Du reste, si un sujet de conversation entre vous et les ambassadeurs des États intervient à ce sujet, vous pourrez y mentionner que les villes hanséatiques de Poméranie devraient aussi y être incluses. Nous vous recommandons donc à Dieu, etc.

Our especial favour, etc.
Faithful men and commissioners to the Danish peace treaty,
We have sent you here, as an attachment, what the envoy from Stettin, Fridericus Pascovius, has requested from Us upon his return from you on behalf of the Pomeranian Hanseatic cities.
As for what now stands for you to do in both matters, We would gladly see that you gratify the said Hanseatic cities, particularly by granting them freedom of customs in the Sound. The second is of more afterthought, not because We obviously would gladly include the said Hanseatic cities no less than other Pomeranian cities and inhabitants in the conditions and liberties that could be granted to Us and the States General by means of some closer alliance on both sides, as it is to be said that their ambassadors have orders and permission from their principals to propose and seek to establish a guarantee of alliance with Us.
But because We have not yet given you such complete instructions and authority to conclude such an alliance further than the effects of the former are capable of and concern, the matter is still open to question, and We have time enough to explain it further; for the rest, if anything comes into conversation between you and the States' ambassadors about it, you can mention on it that the Pomeranian Hanseatic cities should also be included therein. We therefore and hereby commend you to God, etc.
