... Den 9 martij kommo wij till Rooma, 5½ mihl.

Hwadh uthij Room och deromkring ähr att see, hafwe wij medh flijt i acht taget, och wore alt för widhlöfftigt her att förmähla. Men som wij funne Hennes Maij:tt Drottning Christinam her för oss, altså hade wij så myket bättre lägenheet att iblandh hennes medhföllie få see många helgedomar och raritæter, iblandh hwilke och detta fast ähr det förnembste: att kyssa apostlernes Petri och Pauli hufwudhskallar, som vthij kiörkorne S:t Piedro och Maria Maggiore uthij alltaren finnes förwarade och myket sellan framwijses. ...

Vad uti Rom och däromkring är att se have vi med flit iakttagit, och vore alltför vidlyftigt här att förmäla. Men som vi funno Hennes Majestät drottning Christinam här för oss, alltså hade vi så mycket bättre lägenhet att ibland hennes medfölje få se många helgedomar och rariteter, ibland vilka ock detta fast är det förnämsta: att kyssa apostlarnas Petri och Pauli huvudskallar, som uti kyrkorna S:t Pietro och Maria Maggiore uti altaren finnas förvarade och mycket sällan framvisas. ...

... Le 9 mars nous sommes arrivés à Rome, à 5½ milles.

Nous avons observé avec soin ce qu'il y a à voir à Rome et dans ses environs, et il serait trop long de le raconter ici. Mais comme nous avons trouvé ici pour nous Sa Majesté la reine Christine, nous avons eu d'autant plus l'occasion de voir de nombreux sanctuaires et raretés parmi sa suite, parmi lesquels se trouve certainement la plus importante: embrasser les crânes des apôtres Pierre et Paul, qui sont conservés dans les autels des églises Saint-Pierre et Marie-Majeure et qui sont très rarement exposés. ...

English translation (my own):

... On March 9 we arrived in Rome, 5½ miles.

We have diligently observed what there is to see in Rome and its surroundings, and it would be too extensive to recount here. But as we found Her Majesty Queen Kristina here for us, we have had so much better opportunity to see many shrines and rarities among her suite, among which this is certainly the most important: to kiss the skulls of the Apostles Peter and Paul, which are kept in the altars of the Churches of St. Peter and Maria Maggiore and which are very rarely exhibited. ...
