Excerpt from Francis Mortoft's diary entry of December 26, 1658/January 5, 1659 (New Style)

The diary entry excerpt:

... Wee went one paire of staires higher, and entered up into the Romes of the Capitol [in the Palace of the Conservators], where just as one enters In stands A great statue of Pope Xistus Quintus, all in Brasse, and made in the same manner as he used to sitt in tyme of great festival dayes. ...

Just by this statue, upon the wall, is the head of the Queene of Swethland in white marble, made very like her, with something in lattin under her in her praise for turning to the Church of Rome. ...

With modernised spelling:
