Pour une réponse gracieuse, Nous avons fait lire les conditions à haute voix et les avons examinées ainsi que vos raisons de le faire; et comme Nous ne voyons pas maintenant comment le traité pourrait autrement conduire à un verdict hâtif, et que les conditions elles-mêmes sont telles qu'elles concordent et reflètent les instructions que Nous vous avons données dans Nos ordres précédents, Nous les trouvons, ainsi que votre résolution prise sur cette question, raisonnables, ne doutant pas que vous procéderez d'une manière que vous jugerez propice à Notre service et à celui du Royaume, ainsi que que vous Nous ferez savoir quelle réponse et quelle résolution suivront, selon votre diligence habituelle, lorsque Nous vous informerons plus en détail de Notre opinion et de Notre gracieuse volonté sur cette question. Our especial favour, etc. Faithful men and commissioners to the Danish peace treaty, your letter from Söderåkra, of the 7th of this month, has handed to Us, from which We learn that nothing worthy of writing has happened since your last letter to Us, either on the one or the other side, wherefore you, considering the matter, have found it good and advisable to write three conditions for Our security (a copy of which We have also received along with your letter), to hand them over to the mediator unless he is willing or able to propose something that can please you; and you therefore request to learn Our censure and gracious will concerning it.
As a gracious answer, We have had the conditions read aloud to Us and have considered them as well as your reasons for doing so; and because We cannot now see how the treaty can be otherwise conducive to any hasty verdict, and the conditions themselves are such as to agree and reflect on Our instructions given to you in Our previous orders, We find them and your resolution made on this matter reasonable, not doubting that you will proceed with it in a way you find to be conducive to Our and the Realm's service, as well as that you will let Us know what answer and resolution will follow, according to your usual diligence, when We will further inform you of Our opinion and gracious will on this matter. We commend you, etc.
