J'écris à Votre Révérence pour lui souhaiter bon succès dans son voyage et dans l'affaire à laquelle elle a été destinée de Dieu même, «comme une vase d'élection pour porter son nom aux peuples et aux rois jusqu'aux extrémités de la terre.» Et certes, ce doit doit être une grande consolation pour Votre Révérence de n'avoir rien mis du sien en tout cela, d'avoir été élue sans même le savoir et par conséquent «d'être vraiment appelée de Dieu comme Aaron.» Vous pouvez donc vous promettre une abondance de fruits spirituels en rapport avec la puissance même de Dieu qui vous appelle à semer et à moissonner dans son champ. Je joins à ma lettre une instruction dans laquelle j'ai exposé à grands traits la conduite à tenir dans votre mission. Le P. Casati vous dira le reste de vive voix et en détail. Je vous recommande une fois encore la plus parfaite concorde en toute chose et je m'unis à vos prières et saints sacrifices.

Jag skriver till Ers Vördighet för att önska Er god framgång på Er resa och i den affär som Ni har blivit avsedd för av Gud själv »som ett utvalt kärl att bära hans namn till folk och konungar till jordens ändar.« Och visst måste det vara en stor tröst för Ers Vördighet att inte ha lagt något eget i allt detta, att ha blivit utvald utan att ens veta det och följaktligen »att verkligen bli kallad av Gud som Aron.« Ni kan därför lova Er själv ett överflöd av andlig frukt som står i proportion till själva Guds kraft, som kallar Er att så och skörda på hans åker. Till mitt brev bifogar jag en instruktion där jag i stora ordalag har beskrivit uppförandet som skall följas i Ert uppdrag. Fader Casati kommer att berätta resten muntligen och i detalj. Jag rekommenderar Er ännu en gång den mest fullkomliga överensstämmelse i alla ting, och jag förenar mig med Era böner och heliga offer.

And certainly, it must be a great consolation for Your Reverence to have put nothing of your own into all this, to have been elected without even knowing it and consequently "to be truly called by God like Aaron." You can therefore promise yourself an abundance of spiritual fruit commensurate with the very power of God, who calls you to sow and reap in His field. I enclose with my letter an instruction in which I have outlined in broad terms the conduct to be followed in your mission. Father Casati will tell you the rest by mouth and in detail. I recommend to you once again the most perfect concord in all things, and I unite myself to your prayers and holy sacrifices.
