Respondit sibi non videri ut fiat, ty hon hafuer till efuentyr[s] med sigh en hoop munkar och wåre religions hathare, huilkom någon tienst och ähra wijdh den occasionem nödhwendigt skulle bewijsas, thet the icke wärde äro.
Reverendiss. Dn. Dt. Laurelius Episcopus Arosiensis sägher ad hanc rem: »Efter Hennes M:t Drotningh Christina hafuer bewijst Presterskapet myckit gott, gifuit them privilegia etc., ty skulle man gerna mötha henne, om res wore medh henne nu så integra och salva som tillförenne. Men emedan hon är icke nu den hon förr haf:r warit, uthan een Christina Alexandra, kan man icke uthan sin samwetes spillo och andras förargelse, medh något hedherligit möthande gåå henne tillhanda. Rev. D. D. Superintendens Gothoburgensis distinguit inter Ståndh, quatenus Ståndh, huilket i detta fall icke bör giöra sigh något indignum. Men någon utaf Ståndet, hoo som det tecktes, kunde hennes M:t bemötha, ty een sådhan person habet rationem privati.

Il répondit qu'il ne lui paraissait pas nécessaire de le faire, car elle avait peut-être avec elle une compagnie de moines et d'ennemis de notre religion, dont tout service et tout honneur en cette occasion seraient nécessairement jugés indignes.
Le révérendissime seigneur docteur Laurelius, évêque de Västerås, a déclaré à ce sujet: «Parce que Sa Majesté la reine Christine a très bien prouvé au clergé, leur a donné des privilèges, etc., on serait donc heureux de la rencontrer si les choses étaient avec elle maintenant aussi entière et en sécurité qu'avant; mais parce qu'elle n'est plus ce qu'elle était, mais une Christine Alexandra, on ne peut pas s'adresser à elle avec une salutation honorable sans gaspiller sa conscience et indigner les autres. Le révérendissime seigneur docteur, le surintendant de Gothembourg, a distingué entre l'État et jusqu'au État, qui dans ce cas ne devrait pas s'indigner; mais qu'il plaît à quiconque de cet État de pouvoir rencontrer Sa Majesté, parce qu'une telle personne a une opinion privée.
Le révérendissime seigneur docteur Lithman a raconté ce qui s'est passé dans un état similaire lorsque le corps du feu roi Gustave Adolphe était amené à travers l'Allemagne. On September 30, the Most Reverend Lord Doctor Lithman, in his own name, asked if it would be appropriate to go to and greet Queen Kristina, who was now near and would come in [soon].
He answered that it did not appear to him that it should be done, for she possibly had with her a company of monks and haters of our religion, of whom any service and honour on that occasion would necessarily be proved unworthy.
The Most Reverend Lord Doctor Laurelius, the Bishop of Västerås, said on this matter: "Because Her Majesty Queen Kristina has proven to the clergy very well, given them privileges, etc., one would therefore gladly meet her if things were with her now as whole and safe as before; but because she is not now who she used to be, but a Kristina Alexandra, one cannot go to her with any honourable greeting without a wasting of one's conscience and the indignation of others. Religion is the eye of the soul, which should not in the slightest aspect be harmed and considered."
The Most Reverend Lord Doctor, the Superintendent of Gothenburg, distinguished between the Estate and as far as the Estate, which in this case should not make itself indignant; but that it please whosoever of that Estate to be able to meet Her Majesty, because such a person has a private opinion.
The Most Reverend Lord Doctor Lithman told what happened in a similar state when the body of the late King Gustav Adolf was brought through Germany. The Lutheran theologians here and there took the initiative to honour and follow the funeral procession. But when they learned that Bergius and Grotius, Calvinists, had been in the suite, they withdrew, not wanting to honour them as heretics with any greeting. The Most Reverend Lord Vice President believes this, that the zeal of the theologians here was not to be followed in everything. One had to seek Her Majesty's interaction and to try to see if one could profit by it, for he had persuaded himself that, by God's grace, she would still consider it and would be able to come to her senses again. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —
Then it was taken into consideration how one would interact with Queen Kristina upon her arrival if one were to receive her in some particular way. The Superintendent of Gotland told from a relation he had received from one of her ministers, Andrea Appelman, that Her Majesty is also suspected by the Pope himself of not being warm in the religion to which she belongs. For, when her room in Rome was prepared for the performance of her divine service, it could never be good for her, from which the Pope had gotten the idea that she was not a good Catholic. It was also told that Her Majesty herself had confessed that during the entire 5 years before she resigned the regiment she had been a good Catholic in her heart, regardless of the fact that she had not taken Communion according to the custom of our religion without great arrogance.

The Most Reverend Lord Doctor Lithman told what happened in a similar state when the body of the late King Gustav Adolf was brought through Germany. The Lutheran theologians here and there took the initiative to honour and follow the funeral procession. But when they learned that Bergius and Grotius, Calvinists, had been in the suite, they withdrew, not wanting to honour them as heretics with any greeting. The Most Reverend Lord Vice President believes this, that the zeal of the theologians here was not to be followed in everything. One had to seek Her Majesty's interaction and to try to see if one could profit by it, for he had persuaded himself that, by God's grace, she would still consider it and would be able to come to her senses again.
Then it was taken into consideration how one would interact with Queen Kristina upon her arrival if one were to receive her in some particular way. The Superintendent of Gotland told from a relation he had received from one of her ministers, Andrea Appelman, that Her Majesty is also suspected by the Pope himself of not being warm in the religion to which she belongs. For, when her room in Rome was prepared for the performance of her divine service, it could never be good for her, from which the Pope had gotten the idea that she was not a good Catholic. It was also told that Her Majesty herself had confessed that during the entire 5 years before she resigned the regiment she had been a good Catholic in her heart, regardless of the fact that she had not taken Communion according to the custom of our religion without great arrogance.
Considering these and other things, it was concluded that upon her arrival one must not stand in the road she is travelling on, for she has become an apostate and has moreover slandered our religion, as is to be lessened by her act of revocation and abdication. It was also remonstrated that now that Queen Kristina is arriving, it is not only dangerous for our religion, but also for our young King, especially if she would be staying in the castle. For it is not unknown how the papal crowd in all ages has been inclined to parricide upon the high people who are not of their religion. Regardless of which, one does not in any measure want to suspect Her Majesty Queen Kristina herself in such a case; however, one is always afraid of Her Majesty's entourage and followers, among whom the Pope may have some poisonous person who would gladly let himself be used for the ruin of our Fatherland, from which we nevertheless hope that God will graciously preserve us, as we shall also always faithfully pray in our prayers for our King and Queen, as also the whole congregation. ...
