Att samma innerliga kärlek uttalar sig i pfalzgrefvens bref kunde lätt af flere hans skrifvelser styrkas, ehuru hans känsla ej synes ega det djup, som är det genomgående grunddraget i hans gemåls hela karakter, under det att hans eget väsen är mera vändt utåt än inåt. Då Catharinas alla kärleksuttryck bära hjertats hallstämpel, ega deremot pfalzgrefvens ej sällan denna prägel af courtoisie, som numera ej rätt anslår vårt sinne; den på botten ädla och allvarliga grundtonen kan dock ej deraf helt och hållet undanskymmas. Ett bref, som, dateradt Stockholm, saknar årtal, innehåller dessa nedanstående uttryck af ömhet...

Serdeles betecknande för de båda makarnas olika sätt att behandla lifvets allvarligaste frågor och dess andliga angelägenheter, oaktadt den i grunden stora samstämmigheten, visar oss de tankar pfalzgrefven nedskrifvit vid mottagandet af sin gemåls framställning, att deras äldsta dotter snart måtte tillåtas begå Herrans nattvard. Moderns hemställan utgår från en så enkel, klar och af sann trosvisshet genomträngd öfvertygelse, att hennes ord af hvarje kristligt sinne skola förstås och behjertas; fadern deremot förirrar sig, med allt erkännande af denna angelägenhets stora vigt, i så omfattande teologiska spekulationer, att man blott med ansträngning kan följa hans tankegång och synbarligen märker, att det för honom mera är en förståndets än hjertats sak. ..."
"... That the same heartfelt love is expressed in the Count Palatine's letters could easily be confirmed by several of his writings, although his feelings do not seem to have the depth that is the consistent basic feature of his wife's entire character, while his own nature is more turned outward than inward. While all of Katarina's expressions of love bear the hallmark of the heart, the Count Palatine's do not infrequently have this touch of courtesy, which nowadays does not quite strike our mind; the underlying noble and serious tone cannot, however, be entirely concealed from it. A letter, which, dated Stockholm, lacking a year, contains these expressions of tenderness below...

The thoughts the Count Palatine wrote down upon receiving his wife's request that their eldest daughter should soon be allowed to receive the Lord's Supper are particularly indicative of the two spouses' different ways of dealing with the most serious questions of life and its spiritual concerns, despite their fundamental great agreement. The mother's request is based on such a simple, clear and truly certain conviction that her words will be understood and heeded by every Christian mind; the father, on the other hand, with all recognition of the great importance of this matter, gets lost in such extensive theological speculations that one can only follow his way of thinking with difficulty and visibly notices that for him it is more a matter of the intellect than of the heart. ..."

Now God will send everything and work for us when we least think of it; may He help Your Lovingness to bear your burden, and may He send and grant us what is blessed.
Your Lovingness must not doubt that when the time comes, if God wills it, I will, with God's help, step forward to come to Your Lovingness in due time. May Your Lovingness be consoled and take good courage; the God who has helped you so far will do so graciously this time as well.
