Vous avez raison de dire que la mort des de Witt étoit nécessaire pour la tranquillité, mais le pouvoir du Prince d'Orange me semble accroître à vue d'œil. Il est déjà plus grand qu'aucun de ses Ancêtres. Le peuple est sot, & il connoîtra un jour l'intérêt de sa liberté, qu'il n'a pas connu jusqu'ici.

Swedish translation (my own):

Ni har rätt i att säga att de Witts död var nödvändig för fred, men prinsen av Oranges makt tycks mig öka synligt. Han är redan större än någon av sina förfäder. Folket är dumma, och de kommer en dag att känna till intresset för sin frihet, som de inte har känt till förrän nu.

English translation (my own):

You are right to say that the death of the de Witts was necessary for peace, but the power of the Prince of Orange seems to me to increase visibly. He is already greater than any of his ancestors. The people are stupid, and they will one day know the interest of their freedom, which they have not known until now.
