The letter:

Le 23. Février 1669.

Monsieur de Rosembach, je ne vois rien à ajouter à mes derniers ordres. Il faut que j'aye patience jusqu'à ce que je voye l'effet qu'ils produiront. Je vous envoye une Relation véritable & sincére de ce qui s'est passé entre moi & Clay. Je veux que vous la publiyez, car je la tiens propre à dessiller les yeux aux gens, & à leur faire connoître la foiblesse & la fausseté de leur prétexte. Ne doutez pas que je n'use de toute la froideur & de toute la dissimulation qui m'est nécessaire en cette occasion, & que je ne prenne mes mesures aussi justes qu'il le faut. Dieu vous conserve.

P. S. Réglez-vous selon mes derniers ordres, communiquez tout à Kurque, laissez faire le reste au tems & à moi.

Herr von Rosenbach,

Jag ser inget att tillägga till mina tidigare befallningar. Jag måste ha tålamod tills jag ser vilken effekt de kommer att ge. Jag skickar Er en sann och uppriktig redogörelse för vad som hände mellan mig och Kleihe. Jag vill att Ni publicerar den ty jag tror att den kommer att öppna människors ögon och låta dem veta svagheten och falskheten i deras förevändning. Tvivla inte på att jag kommer att använda all kyla och all dissimulering som är nödvändig för mig vid detta tillfälle, och att jag kommer att vidta mina åtgärder så rättvisa som det är nödvändigt. Gud bevare Er.

P. S. Uppför Er enligt mina tidigare befallningar, meddela allt till Kurck, lämna resten åt tiden och till mig.

Lord von Rosenbach,

I see nothing to add to my previous orders. I must be patient until I see the effect they will produce. I am sending you a true and sincere account of what happened between me and Kleihe. I want you to publish it because I think it will open people's eyes and let them know the weakness and falsity of their pretext. Do not doubt that I will use all the coldness and all the dissimulation that is necessary for me on this occasion, and that I will take my measures as just as necessary. God preserve you.

P. S. Conduct yourself according to my previous orders, communicate everything to Kurck, leave the rest to time and to me.
