March[es]e del Monte, Hò riceuute le due u[ost]re Lett[er]e de 15. e de' 19 del pass[a]to dalle quali intendo che haueuate risoluto di dare le u[ost]re propositioni e come non vedo che Sia preceduta la confermat[io]ne del Recesso p[er] la quale prima d'ogn'altra cosa era necessario di premere conforme pur era il u[ost]ro pensiero, non sò che mi credere, tuttauia mi quieto di mente persuadendomi che haurete prese quelle risolutioni, che più conueniuano al mio buon Seruizio.

Quanto alle cose di Mumma Secondo quello che me ne scriue anco il Texeira le tengo p[er] aggiustate, mà di Boman Se ne lamenta al solito trouando in lui l'istesse Strauaganze à Segno che dubita Sia per esser necessario di leuargli l'Affitto, p[er]ò al v[ost]ro ritorno in Hamburgo vedete in ogni maniera d'aggiustar ve ne hò Scritto con le passate.

Tuttavia mi quieto di mente, persuadendomi che avrete prese quelle risoluzioni che più convenivano al mio buon servigio.

Quanto alle cose di Momma, secondo quello che me ne scrive anco il Texeira, le tengo per aggiustate; ma di Baumann se ne lamenta al solito, trovando in lui l'istesse stravaganze a segno che dubita sia per esser necessario di levargli l'affitto. Però, al vostro ritorno in Amburgo, vedete in ogni maniera d'aggiustar ve ne ho scritto con le passate.

I did not doubt your obedience in matters of love; but Rapicano can take revenge by publishing in Sweden that you are a grandfather, despite the blond wig you wear. Certainly you have made too many ceremonies with the rascal, and do not fail to chase him from your home, if this has not already been done. Hurry as much as possible without prejudice to my affairs, and come and enjoy our beautiful Italy.

J'ai reçu vos deux lettres des 15 et 19 du passé, d'où je comprends que vous aviez résolu de donner vos propositions; et comme je ne vois pas de confirmation précédée du recès, pourtant indispensable, malgré votre intention, je ne sais comment le croire. Je me calme néanmoins dans mon esprit, me persuadant que vous avez pris les résolutions qui convenaient le plus à mon service.

Quant aux affaires de Momma, d'après ce que Texeira m'écrit également, je les crois réglées; mais il se plaint comme toujours de Baumann, lui reprochant les mêmes excentricités, au point de douter qu'il soit nécessaire de supprimer son loyer. Cependant, à votre retour à Hambourg, veillez-y autant que possible; je vous en ai écrit dans mes précédentes.

Faites vos caresses à la comtesse de Riperda, l'assurant du plaisir avec lequel j'ai reçu sa lettre et du souvenir particulier que je garderai du zèle qu'elle montre à mon égard; et vous recevrez ma réponse pour elle.

Jag har mottagit Era två brev av den 15:e och 19:e förra månaden, av vilka jag förstår att Ni hade beslutat att lägga fram Era förslag; och eftersom jag inte kan se att bekräftelsen av recessen föregåtts, för vilket det var nödvändigt att gå vidare före något annat, trots att det var Er avsikt, vet jag inte hur jag skall tro på det. Ändå lugnar jag mig i mitt sinne, övertygande mig själv om att Ni har fattat de beslut som bäst gynnar min goda tjänst.

Vad gäller Mommas angelägenheter, enligt vad Texeira också skriver till mig, anser jag dem vara avgjorda; men han klagar som vanligt på Baumann och finner samma excentriciteter hos honom, till den grad att han tvivlar på att det kommer att bli nödvändigt att ta bort hans hyra. Jag skall inte berätta något mer om Appelman, ty jag antar att Ni är mycket angelägen om att avsluta den här affären innan Ni ger Er av därifrån.

I övrigt godkänner jag vad Ni har gjort, det misshagar mig att det går så långsamt på grund av min önskan om Er snara återkomst; men man måste ha tålamod. Ta väl hand om Er själv, och Gud välsigne Er. Från Rom, den 26 november 1672.

Jag tvivlade inte på Er lydnad i fråga om älskogen, men Rapicano kunde ha utkrävt sin hämnd genom att låta det bli känt i Sverige att Ni redan är farfar, med blond peruk och allt. Men när det kom till kritan har Ni gjort alltför mycket ceremoni med den där usling; underlåt inte att skicka honom till galgen, om det inte redan har skett. I have received your two letters of the 15th and 19th of this past month, from which I understand that you had resolved to give your propositions; and as I do not see that the confirmation of the recess preceded, for which it was necessary to press ahead before anything else, although it was your intention, I do not know how to believe it. Still, I am at peace in my mind, persuading myself that you have taken the resolutions that are best conducive to my good service.

As for Momma's affairs, according to what Texeira also writes to me, I hold them to be settled; but he complains as usual about Baumann, finding the same eccentricities in him, to the point that he doubts it will be necessary to remove his rent. However, upon your return to Hamburg, see to it in every way possible; I have written to you about it in the previous letters.

Make your caresses [compliments] to the Countess von Riperda, assuring her of the pleasure with which I have received her letter and of the particular memory I will keep of the zeal she shows toward my affairs; and you will receive my reply for her.
