Priore; mà con tutto ciò Si è risoluto assieme col S[igno]r Card[inal]e Azz[olin]o di lasciar presentar la francese, in ordine però al tempo di presentarla io hò tuttauia il med[em]o desiderio che Se è possibile Si ueda p[ri]ma che effetto fà il Breue di N. Io ho tuttavia il medemo desiderio che, se è possibile, si veda prima che effetto fa il breve di Nostro Signore, il che si può a mio parere scoprire in pochi giorni. E se si scorgono gl'animi propensi alla raccomandazione di Sua Santità, confermarli allora tanto più con le mie lettere, altrimente ritenerle.
Nondimeno io mi rimetto in tutto e per tutto alle risoluzioni di Vostra Serenità, che non possono esser se non prudenti ed accertate, massime ch'ella si trova sul luogo. Mi riporto pure a quel più che Sua Eminenza le scriverà; e, ringraziandola per fine dell'applicazione e della premura con che si porta nell'affare, auguro a Vostra Serenità, ecc.

Cependant je me remets en tout à vos résolutions, qui ne peuvent qu'être prudentes & assurées, sur-tout vous trouvant sur les lieux.

Emellertid håller jag fortfarande fast vid tanken att vi först må se, om möjligt, vilken effekt Hans Helighets uppdrag kommer att ge; vad vi kan, tror jag, upptäcka om några dagar; och om Ni märker några dispositioner som är gynnsamma för Hans Helighets rekommendation att genast bekräfta dem genom mina brev, annars att behålla dem. Emellertid litar jag helt och hållet på Edra beslut, som bara kan vara försiktiga och säkra, särskilt när Ni befinner Eder på plats.
English translation (my own):
In the meantime, I still persist in the idea that we first see, if possible, what effect His Holiness's brief will produce; what we can, I think, discover in a few days; and if you notice any dispositions favourable to His Holiness's recommendation to confirm them immediately by my letters, otherwise to retain them. In the meantime, I rely entirely on your resolutions, which can only be prudent and assured, especially when you find yourself on the spot.

J'ai reçu, avec la lettre de Votre Sérénité du 24 du passé, la traduction en latin de ma lettre française faite par le père prieur; néanmoins, lui-même ainsi que Monseigneur le cardinal Azzolino ont résolu de faire présenter la version française, mais seulement lorsque le moment sera venu de la soumettre. J'ai toutefois le même désir, que, si cela est possible, l'on observe d'abord l'effet produit par le bref de Notre Seigneur — effet qui, à mon avis, devrait se manifester d'ici quelques jours. Et si l'on voit que les esprits sont disposés à accueillir la recommandation de Sa Sainteté, alors il conviendra, à plus forte raison, de les confirmer au moyen de mes lettres, plutôt que de les retenir autrement.
Néanmoins, je m'en remets en tout et pour tout aux résolutions de Votre Sérénité, lesquelles ne sauraient être que prudentes et certaines, d'autant plus qu'elle se trouve sur place. Otrzymałam — wraz z listem Waszej Wysokości z dnia 24. ubiegłego miesiąca — sporządzone przez ojca przeora łacińskie tłumaczenie mojego listu napisanego po francusku; niemniej jednak on sam oraz monsiniore kardynał Azzolino postanowili, aby przedłożony został list francuski — lecz dopiero wówczas, gdy nadejdzie stosowna ku temu chwila. Ja jednak żywię to samo pragnienie, aby — o ile to możliwe — najpierw dostrzec skutki listu Naszego Pana; co, moim zdaniem, powinno dać się stwierdzić w ciągu kilku dni. A jeśli okaże się, że umysły są przychylnie nastawione do rekomendacji Jego Świątobliwości, to tym bardziej należałoby utwierdzić je w tym nastawieniu za pomocą moich listów, zamiast postępować w jakikolwiek inny sposób.
Niemniej jednak, we wszystkim i za wszystko, poddaję się postanowieniom Waszej Wysokości, które nie mogą być niczym innym, jak tylko roztropne i sprawdzone, zwłaszcza że jest tam na miejscu.
