Giu[gn]o. — Altre volte vi hò detto che l'Jnghilterra Si dichiarerebbe tardi, mà vedendo il modo d'operar di francia vi dico che Si Saria dichiaerarlo enCora à tempo per far fare alla francia la più vergognosa pace, che Si facette mai, e lo vedrete, ricordateui di me, dubito Solo Se il Rè di Jnghilt[err]a farà quello che deue, mà credo certo che Sarà forzato à farlo à Suo dispetto p[er]che quando non lo faccia correrà presto, ò tardi il pericolo del Padre, dal quale Solo Si Saluerà con far la guerra alla francia[.]

Altre volte vi ho detto che l'Inghilterra si dichiarerebbe tardi, ma, vedendo il modo d'operar di Francia, vi dico che si saria dichierar encora a tempo per far fare alla Francia la più vergognosa pace che si facette mai, e lo vedrete. Ricordatevi di me. Dubito solo se il re di Inghilterra farà quello che deve, ma credo certo che sarà forzato a farlo a suo dispetto, perché quando non lo faccia correrà presto, o tardi il pericolo del padre, dal quale solo si salverà con far la guerra alla Francia.

Je vous ai dit autrefois que l'Angleterre se déclareroit trop tard. Mais voyant la maniére d'agir de la France, je vous dis que si elle se déclare encore à tems, la France fera la Paix la plus ignominieuse qu'elle ait jamais faite, & vous le verrez. Souvenez-vous de moi. Je doute seulement que le Roi d'Angleterre fasse ce qu'il doit, mais je crois qu'il sera forcé à le faire malgré lui; car s'il ne le fait pas, il courra le danger de son Pére, lequel il évitera en faisant la guerre à la France.

Swedish translation (my own):

Jag sade Er tidigare att England skulle förklara sig för sent. Men när jag ser hur Frankrike agerar, säger jag Er att om det fortfarande förklarar sig i tid, kommer Frankrike att sluta den mest vanära fred det någonsin har slutit, och Ni kommer att se det. Kom ihåg mig. Jag tvivlar bara på att konungen av England kommer att göra vad han måste, men jag tror att han kommer att tvingas göra det trots sig själv; ty om han inte gör det, kommer han att löpa sin fars fara, som han kommer att undvika genom att gå i krig med Frankrike.

English translation (my own):

I told you formerly that England would declare herself too late. But seeing the way France acts, I tell you that if she still declares herself in time, France will make the most ignominious peace she has ever made, and you will see it. Remember me. I only doubt that the King of England will do what he must, but I believe he will be forced to do it in spite of himself; for if he does not, he will run the danger of his father, which he will avoid by going to war with France.

French translation of the original (my own):

Le 12 juin. —

Je vous ai dit d'autres fois que l'Angleterre se déclarerait trop tard, mais, voyant la manière dont agit la France, je vous dis qu'elle se déclarerait encore à temps pour faire faire à la France la paix la plus vergogneuse qui ait jamais été faite, et vous le verrez. Souvenez-vous de moi. Je doute seulement que le roi d'Angleterre fasse ce qu'il doit faire, mais je crois bien qu'il sera forcé de le faire malgré lui, car s'il ne le fait pas, il courra tôt ou tard le danger de son père, dont il ne se sauvera qu'en faisant la guerre à la France.

Jag har ju sagt Er vid andra tillfällen att England skulle förklara sig för sent, men när jag ser hur Frankrike agerar, säger jag Er att det ännu skulle förklara sig i tid för att få Frankrike att sluta den skamligaste fred som någonsin har slutits, och Ni kommer att se det. Kom ihåg mig. Jag tvivlar bara på om konungen av England kommer att göra vad han måste, men jag tror verkligen att han kommer att tvingas göra det trots sig själv, för om han inte gör det kommer han förr eller senare att löpa faran som sin far led, från vilken han bara kommer att rädda sig själv genom att kriga mot Frankrike.

I have told you at other times that England would declare itself too late, but, seeing the way France is acting, I tell you that it would still declare itself in time to make France make the most shameful peace that has ever been made, and you will see it. Remember me. I only doubt whether the King of England will do what he must, but I certainly believe that he will be forced to do it in spite of himself, because if he does not do it, he will sooner or later run the danger of his father, from which he will only save himself by making war on France.
