Ayant reçu cette semaine une Lettre du nouveau Roi de Pologne, que le Cardinal Orsini m'a présentée, par laquelle il m'a fait part de son Election; j'ai la confiance en vous, Monsieur, de vous adresser ma Réponse à Sa Majesté, vous priant de la lui remettre, & de lui marquer mes sentimens dans les termes les plus vifs. Je vous prie d'excuser la peine que je vous donne, avec le consentement du Cardinal Azzolino.

Pour le Pére Hacki je lui ai donné la permission de me venir voir, afin de satisfaire le desir qu'il a de voir Rome, avec ordre pourtant de s'en excuser auprès de vous, puisqu'il retournera à Varsovie vers le tems du Couronnement.

Au-reste vous devez être assuré, Monsieur, que comme je fais profession de vous avoir de grandes obligations, je saisirai avec une égale promtitude toutes les occasions de les reconnoître effectivement, vous souhaitant en attendant toute sorte de prospérités.

Swedish translation (my own):

Efter att i veckan ha fått ett brev från den nye konungen av Polen, framlagt för mig av kardinal Orsini, vari han underrättade mig om sitt val; jag har förtroende för Er, monsignor, att rikta mitt svar till Hans Majestät och bedjer Er att överlämna det till honom och att uttrycka mina känslor för honom i de starkaste termer. Ursäkta besväret jag ger Er, med kardinal Azzolinos samtycke.

Vad gäller fadern Hacki, jag har givit honom tillåtelse att komma och träffa mig, för att tillfredsställa hans önskan att se Rom, men med befallningen att bedja Er om ursäkt, eftersom han skall återvända till Warszawa vid tiden för kröningen.

Dessutom måste Ni vara säker på, monsignor, att eftersom jag bekänner mig ha stora förpliktelser gentemot Er, skall jag lika snabbt ta tillfället i akt att erkänna dem på ett effektivt sätt, och emellertid önskar Er all slags välstånd.

English translation (my own):

Having received this week a letter from the new King of Poland, presented to me by Cardinal Orsini, in which he informed me of his election; I have the confidence in you, Monsignor, to address my answer to His Majesty, asking you to deliver it to him, and to express my feelings to him in the strongest terms. Please excuse the trouble I give you, with the consent of Cardinal Azzolino.

As for Father Hacki, I have given him permission to come and see me, in order to satisfy his desire to see Rome, but with orders to apologise to you, since he will return to Warsaw around the time of the coronation.

Besides, you must be assured, Monsignor, that as I profess to have great obligations to you, I will seize with equal promptness every opportunity to acknowledge them effectively, wishing you all kinds of prosperity in the meantime.
