J'ay receù uostre lettre du 16. du passè, et ayant Veu les obiettions, qu'on Vous fait touchant ma personne J'y ay respondù pour Vous informer de la maniere que Je Souhaitterois que Vous combattièz ces oppositions, Je Vous les enuoye icy iointes, Vous priant d'estre tres reseruè Sur mon Suiet, et de ne parler à personne de moy Sans ordre expres du M[onseigneu]r le Nonce Apostolique, à qui J'ay pleinement abbandonnè apres Dieu la direction de cette negotiation: Je m'asseure au reste que Vostre affection et [Vostre] Zele employeront toute la prudence; et l'application necessaire dans vne affaire de cette importance, et Je prie Dieu &c.

Jag har mottagit Ert brev av den 16 av förra månaden; och efter att ha sett de invändningar som har gjorts mot Er angående min person, har jag svarat dem för att informera Eder om det sätt på vilket jag vill att Ni skall bekämpa dessa motstånd. Jag sänder dem till Eder bifogade, och ber Eder att vara mycket reserverad i mitt ämne och att inte tala med någon om mig utan en uttrycklig order från den apostoliska nuntien, till vilken jag helt har övergivit, efter Gud, riktningen för denna förhandling. Han försäkrar mig dessutom att Eder tillgivenhet och Edert iver kommer att använda all den försiktighet och tillämpning som är nödvändig i en sak av denna betydelse.

I have received your letter of the 16th of last month; and having seen the objections that have been made to you concerning my person, I have replied to them to inform you of the manner in which I would like you to combat these oppositions. I send them to you enclosed, begging you to be very reserved on my subject, and not to speak to anyone about me without an express order from the Apostolic Nuncio, to whom I have fully abandoned, after God, the direction of this negotiation. He assures me, moreover, that your affection and your zeal will employ all the prudence and application necessary in a matter of this importance.

Otrzymałam pański list z 16. dnia ubiegłego miesiąca i, widząc zastrzeżenia, jakie pan zgłasza w odniesieniu do mojej osoby, odpowiedziałam na niego, informując o sposobie, w jaki chciałabym, aby pan się do nich ustosunkował. Przesyłam je panu w załączeniu, prosząc o zachowanie szczególnej powściągliwości w mojej sprawie i o nierozmawianie z nikim na mój temat bez wyraźnego polecenia monsiniora nuncjusza apostolskiego, któremu, po Bożemu, całkowicie powierzyłam kierownictwo tych negocjacji. Zapewniam zresztą, że pańskie oddanie i gorliwość pozwolą na podjęcie wszelkich niezbędnych środków ostrożności i pilności w sprawie tak ważnej; i modlę się do Boga itd.
