S. de 19 e de 26 di Sett[embr]e che mì hanno trouata in viaggio, e questa Sera Sono giunta felicemente in Trento, e proseguírò il mio cammino p[er] essere à piedi di N[ostro] S[igno]re e ringraziarlo colla viua voce di tanta bontà che hà voluto hauere p[er] me [...] come mi riferisce il Ca[r]d[inal]e d'inviarle anche nuoui Breui p[er] promuouere con magg[ior] premura l'affare [...] il quale iò hò rimesso abbandonato affatto nelle mani di V. Et quant à l'exemple de la Reine Venda, je ne l'ai pas allégué dans le discours que je vous ai fait tenir, parce qu'il m'a paru trop ancien: cependant vous pourrez vous prévaloir, parce qu'il est à-la-vérité plus à propos que tout autre.

Pour l'obstacle du Mariage, je m'en suis déjà expliqué, & pour vous parler sur cet article avec la même confidence que je l'ai déjà fait, je ne m'y résoudrai jamais. Cependant vous pourrez leur en donner l'espérance, pour gagner par-là mon Election, je veux dire que je me marierai, s'il n'est pas possible de l'obtenir sans cela, comme je l'ai déjà insinué.

Au-reste vous voyez à-présent, que ce que j'ai écrit il y a long-tems à Rome, & à vous-même touchant le Duc de Neubourg, vient d'être vérifié, c'est-à-dire, que personne ne travaille sérieusement pour lui, & que le Prince de Condé est l'unique qui pourroit me traverser. Aussi, si les Polonois veulent avoir un grand Capitaine, ils ne sauroient faire un meilleur choix que de sa personne.

Jag kommer att vänta med likgiltighet på vad det än behagar Gud att förfoga över i denna förhandling. Och beträffande exemplet med drottning Wanda, jag nämnde det inte i det tal jag höll Er, eftersom det tycktes mig vara för gammalt; men Ni kan utnyttja det, eftersom det verkligen är mer ändamålsenligt än någon annan.

När det gäller hindret för äktenskap, har jag redan förklarat det, och för att tala med Er om denna artikel med samma självförtroende som jag redan har gjort, kommer jag aldrig att lösa det. I will wait with indifference for whatever it pleases God to dispose of in this negotiation. And as for the example of Queen Wanda, I did not mention it in the speech I gave you, because it seemed to me too old; however, you may avail yourself of it, because it is indeed more expedient than any other.

As for the obstacle of marriage, I have already explained it, and to speak to you about this article with the same confidence as I have already done, I will never resolve myself to it. However, you will be able to give them the hope of it, in order to win my election by this, I mean that I will marry, if it is not possible to obtain it without that, as I have already insinuated.

Besides, you see now, that what I wrote a long time ago in Rome, and to yourself concerning the Duke of Neuburg, has just been verified — that is to say, that no one is working seriously for him, and that the Prince de Condé is the only one who could cross me. Ce soir, je suis arrivée heureusement à Trente, et je continuerai mon voyage pour être aux pieds de Notre Seigneur et le remercier de vive voix pour tant de bonté qu'il a bien voulu avoir pour moi, car le cardinal me charge de vous envoyer aussi de nouveaux brefs pour promouvoir avec plus de soin l'affaire que j'ai entièrement abandonnée entre les mains de Votre Sérénité, afin qu'elle puisse la ménager selon les ordres qu'elle a reçus de Rome, où j'attendrai avec la plus grande indifférence ce qu'il plaira à Dieu de disposer à ce sujet.

Monsinior Kardynał Azzolino przysłał mi listy Waszej Wysokości z 19 i 26 września, które zastały mnie w drodze; a dziś wieczorem szczęśliwie przybyłam do Trydentu i będę kontynuowała moją podróż, aby znaleźć się u stóp Naszego Pana i podziękować mu ustnie za tak wielką dobroć, jaką zechciał dla mnie okazać, ponieważ Kardynał nakazuje mi również wysłać do pana nowe listy, aby promować z większą starannością sprawę, którą całkowicie powierzyłam w ręce Waszej Wysokości, tak aby mógł nią zarządzać zgodnie z rozkazami, które ma w tej sprawie z Rzymu, gdzie będę oczekiwała z całą obojętnością tego, co Bóg zechce rozporządzić w tej sprawie.

Jeśli chodzi o przykład królowej Wandy, nie przyjąłam go w swoim przemówieniu, gdyż wydał mi się zbyt stary; niemniej jednak Wasza Wysokość będzie mógł się nim posłużyć, gdyż jest on rzeczywiście bardziej odpowiedni niż jakikolwiek inny.

Poza tym Wasza Wysokość widzi teraz dobrze, że to, co dawno napisałam do Rzymu i do Waszej Wysokości o księciu Neuburga, spełnia się, to znaczy, że nie zostało to zrobione dla niego, a tylko książę de Condé może mi sprawić kłopot, bo jeśli chcą mieć świetnego żołnierza, to nie mogą dokonać lepszego wyboru niż on. Note: Queen (Princess) Wanda of Poland (said to have lived in the 8th century) was the daughter of the Lechitic king Krakus, the legendary founder of Kraków. Upon her father's death she became a princess of the Poles, but ultimately took her own life to avoid an unwanted marriage.
