... Si Dieu veut que je parvienne à cette Couronne, quoique le Légat y puisse avoir contribué, je ne manquerai pas pour cela de reconnoître vos travaux, en satisfaisant aux promesses que je vous ai faites, & le Cardinal Azzolino en fera de-même: ce dont vous pouvez vous tenir assuré par ma présente ratification.

Pour ce que vous m'avez mandé du départ du Pére Prieur pour les Provinces d'alentour, afin de pressentir la Noblesse sur mon sujet, & découvrir leurs sentimens intérieurs là-dessus, j'ai cru que la Diette pour l'Election étant prorogée jusqu'en May, il seroit bon de différer encore de faire parler de moi sitôt, pour ne pas porter préjudice à l'affaire, comme vous me l'avez dit précédemment. Cependant, comme vous vous trouvez sur les lieux, & que vous avez estimé à propos de donner tel ordre, dont les motifs, la maniére, & les précautions même semblent être de poids, je remets le tout à votre direction, & j'espére que le succès n'en sera que bon. Vous pourriez aussi écrire au Frére (N. N.) qu'il publie adroitement la Prophétie, & y ajoute comme par appendice, que le Pape me recommandera en son tems. Il fera courir cela comme de lui-même, & comme une nouvelle sans mon ordre.

Swedish translation (my own):

... Om Gud vill att jag skall uppnå denna Krona, även om legaten kan ha bidragit till det, skall jag inte underlåta att erkänna Ert arbete, genom att uppfylla de löften jag gav Er, och kardinal Azzolino skall göra detsamma, vilket Ni kan vara säker på genom min nuvarande ratificering.

För det Ni berättade för mig om fadern priorens avgång till de omgivande provinserna, för att känna adeln i mitt ämne och för att upptäcka deras inre känslor om det, trodde jag att valrådet förlängdes till maj, det skulle vara en god idé att skjuta upp att få folk att prata om mig när som helst snart, för att inte påverka fallet, som Ni sade till mig tidigare. Under tiden, när Ni befinner Er på platsen och Ni har ansett det lämpligt att ge en sådan order, motiverar vars sätt och till och med försiktighetsåtgärderna tycks vara av vikt, underkastar jag Er det hela, och jag hoppas att framgången bara blir bra. Ni skulle också kunna skriva till Brodern (N. N.), att han skickligt bör publicera profetian, och tillägger den som bilaga, att påven kommer att rekommendera mig i sinom tid. English translation (my own):

... If God wills me to achieve this Crown, although the legate may have contributed to it, I will not fail to recognise your work, by fulfilling the promises I made to you, and Cardinal Azzolino will do the same, of which you can be assured by my present ratification.

For what you told me of the departure of the Father Prior for the surrounding provinces, in order to sense the nobility on my subject, and to discover their inner feelings on it, I believed that the Council for the Election being extended until May, it would be a good idea to put off getting people to talk about me anytime soon, so as not to prejudice the case, as you told me previously. In the meantime, as you find yourself on the scene, and you have deemed it appropriate to give such an order, the motives, the manner of which, and even the precautions, seem to be of weight, I submit the whole to your direction, and I hope that success will only be good. You could also write to the Brother (N. N.) that he should skillfully publish the prophecy, and adds to it as an appendix, that the Pope will recommend to me in due time. He will run this as of his own accord, and as news without my order.
