Prudentissima è stata la riflessione fatta da Vostra Maestà che sia superfluo lo scrivere qua a questo re ed a monsignore arcivescovo di Gnesna, perché gl'uffici del primo quando anche si disponesse a passarli non potrebbono che nuocere, e quelli del secondo non sarebbono di gran giovamento per non avere egli gran seguito, e tutti gli altri si offenderebbono che di loro non si fosse fatto conto.
Stimo ben si necessario che Vostra Maestà mandi a me due lettere sue dirette, l'una al Ordine Senatorio, e l'altra all'Ordine Equestre, da presentarsi da me in tempo opportuno nelle quali Vostra Maestà dica che dopo essere stata molto guardinga nel concorrere a questa Corona nelle presenti congiunture, conoscendo non avere mezzi sufficienti, ha nondimeno risoluto di farlo, per far palese al mondo, la stima che da ciascuno deve farsi d'un sì gran regno ed ha perciò ricorso alla sola intercessione del sommo pontefice, animata dalla bontà innata di questa nazione e dall'affetto dalla medesima portato alla famiglia della Casa Reale, tanto benemerita della Repubblica, e della quale Vostra Maestà è l'ultimo rampollo.

Gl'interessi del duca di Neuburgo sono così avanzati e ben fondati con le aderenze e denaro da distribuire per guadagnare gl'animi de' contrari come anco quelli del principe di Condé, del principe Carlo di Lorena, e del moscovita sono così inoltrati che frustratoria riuscirebbe ogni opera per tenerli indietro. En conformité à la solide réflexion de V. M. je trouve qu'il seroit superflu qu'elle écrivît au Roi Casimir ou à l'Archevêque de Gnesne, leurs offices pouvant plutôt nuire à l'affaire en question, parce que les autres Sénateurs & Prélats prendroient en mauvaise part qu'on les eût négligés. A l'encontre, il sera nécessaire que Votre Majesté m'envoye deux de ses Lettres, l'une adressée à l'Ordre Sénatorial, & l'autre à l'Ordre Equestre, que je leur pourrai présenter en son tems. Le Nonce ajoute que les intérêts du Duc de Neubourg, du Prince de Condé & des autres Aspirans sont déjà si bien avancés par l'argent qu'on a distribué de part & d'autre, que ce seroit peine perduë que de s'y opposer pendant qu'ils sont encore en pleine vigueur. Ce seroit donc travailler gratuitement, que de faire à-présent la proposition de V. M. On n'en tireroit aucun avantage. I enlighet med Ers Majestäts fasta reflektion finner jag att det vore överflödigt för Er att skriva till konung Kazimir eller till ärkebiskopen av Gnesen, eftersom deras ämbeten snarare kan skada den aktuella affären, eftersom de andra rådsmännen och prelaterna skulle ta det illa upp att de hade försummats. Tvärtom, det blir nödvändigt för Ers Majestät att sända mig två av Era brev, det ena riktat till Senatorden, och det andra till Riddarståndet, som jag kan framlägga för dem i sinom tid. The Nuncio adds that the interests of the Duke of Neuburg, the Prince de Condé and the other aspirants are already so well advanced by the money that has been distributed on both sides that it would be a waste of time to oppose them while they are still in full force. It would therefore be working gratuitously to make Your Majesty's proposal now. One would not get any benefit from it. On the contrary, by doing so at the present time, His Holiness would seem to declare himself openly against each of the competitors, without profit for Your Majesty and at the expense of the Holy See.

J'estime très nécessaire que Votre Majesté m'adresse directement deux lettres, l'une à l'Ordre sénatorial, l'autre à l'Ordre équestre, afin qu'elles me soient présentées en temps opportun. Wasza Wysokość rozważyła, że pisanie tutaj do tego Króla i Arcybiskupa Gniezna byłoby zbyteczne, ponieważ usługi tego pierwszego, nawet gdyby je złożył, mogłyby przynieść jedynie szkodę, a usługi drugiego nie byłyby zbyteczne, ponieważ nie ma on wielu zwolenników, a wszyscy inni byliby obrażeni, gdyby ich nie wziąć pod uwagę.
Uważam za niezwykle ważne, aby Wasza Wysokość wysłała mi dwa listy bezpośrednio do Was, jeden do Orderu Senatorskiego, a drugi do Orderu Rycerskiego, które zostaną mi przedstawione w dogodnym czasie. W listach Wasza Wysokość stwierdza, że po wielkiej ostrożności w ubieganiu się o tę Koronę w obecnych okolicznościach, wiedząc, że nie dysponuje wystarczającymi środkami, postanowiła jednak to uczynić, aby dać światu do zrozumienia, jakim szacunkiem każdy powinien darzyć tak wielkie królestwo, i dlatego zwróciła się Wasza Wysokość do jedynego wstawiennictwa Najwyższego Papieża, ożywionego wrodzoną dobrocią tego narodu i uczuciem, jakie żywi Wasza Wysokość do rodziny Domu Królewskiego, tak zasłużonej dla Rzeczypospolitej, której Wasza Wysokość jest ostatnią potomkinią.

Interesy księcia Neuburga są tak zaawansowane i uzasadnione, z powiązaniami i pieniędzmi, które należy rozdysponować, by pozyskać serca jego przeciwników, podobnie jak interesy księcia de Condé, księcia Karola Lotaryńskiego i Moskwy, że każda próba ich powstrzymania byłaby frustrująca. Z tego samego powodu nie uznałbym za rozsądne podważanie propozycji Waszej Wysokości w czasie, gdy frakcje tak potężnych wrogów pozostają silne i pełne nadziei, ponieważ taka propozycja nie przyniosłaby żadnych wyobrażalnych owoców, a wobec niej Jego Świątobliwość ogłosiłby się całkowicie przeciwny każdemu z konkurentów, bez korzyści dla Waszej Wysokości, a z zaangażowaniem Stolicy Apostolskiej.
